A thought may be turning into a plan. Turn 3 bikes into 2. I sold the NC750X to my friend Gary. I sold the MT-10SP Monday. It was (a) worth more than I thought and (b) while fun about as useful as tits on a bull for the riding I do. The Triumph is on order and after near 50 years of running my own business that's about as reassuring as "the checks in the mail". Triumph says March and I'm hopeful but this is the same Company that was a year late getting their hugely popular 400 Street and Scrambler here. The S10 is for sale and will sell, especially if I advertise it other places than just here. I suppose by selling 3 bikes I could possibly own both the Triumph AND a V100 Mandello for about the same money. Going to go see if I can sell that logic to my wife! :)

I like the all white all red Mandellos more but:

“Available in just 1913 units, it is a tribute to the year the air division of the Italian Military Marine was founded, the force to which founders Carlo Guzzi, Giorgio Parodi and Giovanni Ravelli belonged.”

There was another pilot who was killed in WW1 and in his honor the eagle on the logo is the one from the Italian pilot wings. Carlo was actually a talented flight engineer (mechanic) and he designed and built the first bikes. He’d worked for Ravelli before the war. Giorgio’s father was a wealthy ship owner who bankrolled the new company. After starting out as “G.P.” They were smart enough to recognize that “Moto(rcycle) Parodi” didn’t sound as good as Moto Guzzi and the company started in 1921.

And yes that’saSea Harrier in the background.

The dealer who had the white one is in Milwaukee. Nice old school family run shop. I also got the warm fuzzy feeling dealing with them. I like the grey but piling miles on the way I do don't think it much matters if it's a special edition. I like the white better, it's gloss not matt paint and believe it will be more visible on the road.

Is it ok if I wear the hat from the grey bike and ride a white one?

Well I bought the white Mandello on Wednesday and it went back to the dealer Saturday afternoon........for the 600 mile service! Also to get the heated grips and bags that came with the bike installed. It is the non S version, I'm cheap. So far I am really impressed with the bike.

Should I change the title of the thread to V100 Mandello Finally?

Congratulations - Love the white!

Parts at www.af1racing.com

There's a 295 page Mandello thread on ADV if you've not found it yet. GuzziTalk is a resource but the site owner is not easy to deal with.

Took care of the title for ya!
:p

Good looking bike. The bags don't look that big because they're thick/deep. (stop giggling) From the side, you can't tell how big they are. The 1150RT had two different sized bags. Similar to yours. Your lid makes up half the capacity. Beemer's civilian bags were like yours with the silver over black part. But their LE bags had a shallower lid. It ended where your silver/black starts.

It must be an Italian thing to only offer the bags with silver color panels. Ducati did that for the first years of the Multistrada too. At some point when the bike is sitting still I'll take them off and get them painted to match. I'm not sure about the Stelvio but on the Mandello with low exhaust both bags are the same size, I think.

Very pretty!

Supposed to be same bags for Stelvio but I'm going with soft ones this time due to the cost of the MG boxes.

I like that the Shad 3P hangers are minimal when the bags are not mounted so ordered a set. The 3P system is also available for Mandello with hard bags.

Puppy brain for life (Bear's got a little German Shepherd)

Ok I have to admit something here. I used to think Dirt_Dad was laying it on kinda thick when he said he felt like the 1290 Super Adventure was made just for him. I mean come on Man my 890 Adventure was great but it wasn't that special! Well I am enlightened! I get it! Because it feels like the V100 Mandello was made for me and for my riding style. The bike fits me like a glove and meshes perfectly with my riding style. It's like I'm in a dream every time I ride the bike. There is no, this is great but...or I wish they did..... I am loving it right out of the box. It's a wicked cool feeling because I thought I was done being excited by bikes until this one.

Glad you found your unicorn bike! I might just have to go for a ride on one now.

Welcome to the other side.

I truely understand exactly what you are saying.

I know I'm incapable of finding words to adequately convey the experience of finding the perfect bike. It's has only happened once for me in 50+ years of riding.

Great bikes can give you that spectacular feeling once, maybe twice a year if you're lucky. Your perfect bike will do that for you on nearly every ride. Your description makes me think you may have found your perfect bike.

Congrats, I hope this feeling never leaves you. Those feelings have stayed with me for 52 months now and show no signs they will ever leave.
