Mandello revisited. Had the opportunity to ride one for about an hour. Verdict is, it's a very pleasant bike and there's nothing to dislike. Other than looks it does not have WOW but neither does the S10. It comes across as very S10 ish, a steady Eddie that does what it's supposed to without much drama. While I was at first disappointed by the lack of WOW for the price I believe it is a bike you could happily live with. There are used one's out there and prices have gotten more realistic.

I’ve ridden several and can understand your description. The Mandello is fun and like the V85 and Stelvio they really love a twisty road. They do have some snap and can wake you up when kept in the high revs but don’t have that hammer-like torque of the FJR out other >1,100+ cc big blocks. Sitting is very FJR-ish but you definitely feel how it is a smaller bike.

Mandellos are a bit more single focus and I’ve noticed that these come up for resale much more often than the Stelvio.

Not sure how you mean by single focus? Road only or sport biased sport touring? More used bikes may also have to do with them being out a year longer than the Stelvio? I looked at the Stelvio thinking with the bigger tank it would work better for me but I'm partial to sport touring style.

Just that they are more road oriented in general. I did a shorter section of gravel on one and it was not confidence inspiring, but again not that far different from an FJR.

Fugly thing in my not humble opinion. I bet it sounds fantastic to make up for that.

Not really sure what it's for tho? What market does it fill?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder obviously.

it’s a light shaft sport tourer. Not much else in that niche.

When I got the Stelvio they were out of the free helmets (didn't want it anyway) and didn't have baseball caps for the Stelvio so gave me a classy looking embroidered gray one from the limited edition Marina Aviazione series.
I like this too! Rear wheel is very nice to look at.

Guess the two tone paint job on the first page of the thread breaks up the body too much for my liking.

Kinda reminds me of the 1980 ish honda goldwing gl1100. Very stylish.

I'm still trying to figure this picture out. I thought it was just a stock photo in front of a Harrier. But with the half circle tank pads and the anchor decal on the fender, this might be a personal bike photo.

It is a special edition numbered bike from the factory including the decals. A la Ducati the paint and decals are the only thing "special" otherwise it is a base non S bike same as the white one in the photos above. Maybe Checkwrecks can fill in the details but the bike is to commemorate something between Moto Guzzi and Italian Naval Aviation. I think the founders of Moto Guzzi flew together or something like that? Then again I may have it all wrong! I think the special edition is only $500 more than a regular bike. Interesting though that the dealer told me there are more grey bikes available than white. I guess they're not making or importing that many white ones. Lots of red ones which is just wrong to me. Looks great but if it's an Italian motorcycle and it's red it should be a Ducati.
