Okay I'll give this a shot here before exploding completely on these things. Short story, I pulled a 1400 mile trip this past weekkend. I used my lights a lot since most my riding was at night. Rode a bunch of gravel not the smoothest of surfaces but that has not been a issue to date. While waiting out a traffic accident on Saturday I was wiping dirt off a lense on my left side D2 and noticed it loose at the slide block that is held in place with a M3 set screw. It was a 2.5 mm allen which I did not have on me at the time. Fast forward, I get home to tighten up the screw on monday and the screw just turns and turns. In other words the threads were gone and in reality there is not enough there to begin with and on top of that in soft aluminum. So I called Twisted Throttle where I purchased the lights last Nov. I will be as nice about this here as I can. I was promised a email and a new pod but I was to send back the damaged one. Which was okay to me I just needed to remove it. I was a little grumpy to that since they were hard to install to begin with. I aggreed and hung up the phone waiting on that email, it has not arrived to date, 24 hours later. I called them this morning to touch base and to find out what where the email was. I was told that "guy" is not in yet and he would forward the message to that "guy" and they would get back to me and solve this issue with the lights. I am still waiting on that call and email which I suspect will never happen. Live and learn I suppose but I am not eating this $400 bucks.

So how would you go about fixing this thread issue? it is a very small hole in the pod and I am not sure a time insert or heli coil will work there. I thought about tapping some new threads one side larger than the current thread pattern and try a one size larger screw again not much room for even a larger screw. The "guy" at Twisted Throttle even suggested casually in during our conversation yesterday I try epoxy. No that won't work either and that is when he said he'd replace it. I am not sure what the problem is here it's well within the warranty as far as I read it. Also I noticed on the current installation instructions they spec red loctite on that screw. That is not on my instructions which I still have. There was also no mention of taking a rubber mallet and tapping that block in place before tightening the screw. That "guy" told me I was suppose to do that on install. I am not a mind reader it was not in the instructions, sorry.

So what am I to do here? doubtful I am getting a replacement pod at this point. I will try and call back one more time tomorrrow to work this out. The fact that I am not getting any response at all I feel that is just a waste of time. I need to get this light pod back on my bike so this $400 bad taste in my mouth will go away. Really is a sad state of affairs these days as a consumer.

Hi Roy.

I have had no involvement with this nor do I handle warranty claims or tech support. What I can do is make sure someone gets back to you asap. I am very sorry for the delay.

hang in there Roy.
I had to get warranty on two sets of Denali D2. I bought on a group buy through Mr. Ed.
One light gave up the ghost from day one (this set was installed on my vfr), so I sent them an email. While I was being asked for this and that (where I bought it, original receipt, pod serial numbers...of course not all at once, but one email back and forth at a time) ::010:: in that time my second set of denali's installed on my tenere, the relay mechanism gave up the ghost (you ask how I may know this, well at this time I pulled the wiring off the VFR, and plugged it into my tenere, and those lights worked.
so I passed this on to twisted throttle, I was told to package up the defective D2, throw in the defective harness and mail back to TT.
I had to pay shipping since i'm in the frozen white north, but they were nice enough to give me the money back on my next order. ::015::

So long story short, they will come through for you, but at a snails pace. The guy at TT can tell you all he wants about the thread lock, in the end he has to help you out, and honor the life time warranty ::024::
keep in mind they are a site sponsor, and do not like bad pr, squeaky wheel gets the grease.

New replacement set of Denali's showed up, no issues since,

Greg
hope this helps.

I made that 3rd call today about closing time. I was able to get the RMA email and I provided the serial numbers to the pods via email to Matt. I will ship the pod back tomorrow via UPS. If you'd like go right ahead and pre-install that block to the replacement pod using the red loctite that is called out now in the updated install instructions. That way I am in no way shape or form connected to that part of the install. That small screw is the weak link in this whole thing with only 2 threads going into the butter soft aluminum housing.

Thanks

My replacement pod is on the bike and working. Hopefully the set screw on this one stays put. I requested it to be pre-installed and it was.

Thanks Twisted Throttle for not making me wait 4 weeks. ::008::
