Hi All.

There was some interest in our (Twisted Throttle's) revised Denali D2 LED Auxiliary Lights. Well.... We just got the delivery confirmation for tomorrow Friday, May 13th (2011)! We have held off on pre-sales and wanted to let you guys who have called know they are available.

As you can tell these are round pods. We heard from our customers that the squre pods were nice but a bit too angular for motorcycles. We listened - hence the round pods.

To refresh you guys on the lights - they draw less than one amp per pod and have 70% more "Luminous Flux" (aka visible brightness) than our Denali "D1s". This is achieved with "Prime Drive Technology". This The Prime Drive increases the efficiency of the light emitting diode while maintaining the lowest possible amp draw. Incorporated in this revision is a bunch more technology including Electronic Thermal Management, Pulse Width Modulation, and the optics have been improved to 90% efficiency for added distance and accuracy. It is safe to say that these lights are going to kick some serious ass. I'm thinking these may be the precursor to a true Light Saber.

Like the D1 Kit the D2 Kit has everything you need to wire up and install the lights including:
 • 2 x Denali D2 LED light pods
 • Wiring Harness with Dimmer Module, Relay and Lighted Switch
 • 2 x universal M10 mounting brackets
 • 2 x multi-link connectors
 • 2 x 'Euro' driving beam lenses (20 degree beam pattern)
 • 2 x fog beam lenses (40 degree beam pattern)
 • Installation instructions

We still plan to sell the D1s. The D1s serve three functions:

Decreased Brightness - in urban areas where there is less need for th awesome power of the D2s.

Stackable - The D1 was designed with channels on 4 sides and an interlink system for those who desired to daisy chain the D1 pods.

Cost Conscious Alternative.
At this point I don't have a lot of pictures or video of the D2s. Everything up until this point has been unfinished samples. I will have them in my hands by mid-day tomorrow (Friday) and I will get as much eye candy up as quickly as possible.

What additional hardware, if any, would I need to install these on a tiger 1050?

Awesome! This is question I can answer. The kit is complete "electrically" for installation on any bike. The only thing that you may have to purchase is a mounting kit. The base kit ships with an M10 bracket that can be used on some but not all bikes. Since we intentionally designed the D2 lights to work with our existing Denali D1 mounting hardware we have a bike-specific bracket for the Tiger 1050 and fender mounts that will work as well. Both seen in this image:

The bike-specific mounting bracket bolts easily under the nose of the bike and can be found here: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4963/596/

The other option is the fender mount kit: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5283

Neither option complicates the installation in the slightest. On another note - I did an installation of the D1s a while ago and to be honest I was a little apprehensive. Now that I have installed a set I understand that this is a straightforward and easy installation. No need to worry about your electrical competency. The instructions make this a breeze.

I want to add something about this package vs. the VisionX package that some of us group bought. Think of the VisionX package as two lights and a spool of wire. There is NOTHING integrated about the harness and the lights. It is actually quite disappointing.

Twisted Throttle has taken care of everything with their package and if you look closely everything is integrated and ready to go. It is definitely the package to buy. I haven't installed my VisionX lights yet and may just sell them and buy the Twisted Throttle package instead.

why is the Tiger bracket angled up like that? I think the light mount points would look better bent down at an even 90 degree angle.

Keep in mind that with round lights; as the D2s are, the angle will "disappear" like this:

The intention is to put the lights close to the body, offer the best position for lighting what's ahead and to minimize the appearance of the brackets.

Once owning a 1050 Tiger as well as this light bracket, the upper tangs mount behind the front faring below the headlight cluster to metal points.
This bracket is a solid piece.

I had two sets of LED's 1500lm and 1600lm..

An odd way to bring a two year old 'dated material' post back to the top.
I like my D2D's.
