I talked to my dealer Sat. he said confirmed June delivery, ordered Nov. 15. I'll believe it when I see it.
Maybe he's planning on giving you one of the one's he ordered (under someone's name) for stock and then will be taking yours (ordered later and arriving later) for stock. It gets the $ in his pocket a month earlier. I've not heard of anyone with a June date that ordered outside of the very first week or two of Sept. Who knows, though.

Today dealer ship said that Yamaha confirmed August (2011, I hope).

Ack! Good point. I didn't think to ask the year when my dealer said July.

:))

Thanks for the update.
Does anyone know the time period from, build to arrival, in the States? The Yamaha district rep told me it was 3 months. That seemed kinda long.

They are literally taking this schedule day by day. I don't blame them at all. Start slow and ramp up as things stabilize. I am cautiously optimistic.

Typically the mfg month stamped on the steering head is 2-3 months before the bike arrives in a dealership. I can't put any finer point on it than that.

You have to know they are losing an incredible amount of money each day there aren't producing product. They are much more motivated to get things going again than even we are. You can bet on that. R

I spoke to my dealer today as well, he had a VIP meeting with Yamaha Canada and said production on the Tenere' is a month delayed, he went on to say the delay was with electronic components from a supplier that was affected by the disaster. I think the problem is bigger than first expected.

If it's only a one month delay, that would be amazing... and I'll be pleasantly surprised. Mentally, I'm preparing myself for a longer wait, lest I have a nervous breakdown (as we've seen in a few posts around the place ::) )

As I remember Canada did not know the price of the bike until some time after sept. 1st 2010. Were you able to order september 1st without a retail price?
I am just thinking production times and scheduled parts for that first production run for Canada and USA. I don't know how early Yamaha requires shipment of the parts before production.

Canada did not release the price, or allow placing an order, until January of this year as I recall. R

The program opened for orders in Canada on December 9, 2010 and closes on April 30, 2011 with a contract close date of August 15, 2011. I think Yamaha Canada released the MSRP some time in November. I was bugging the dealership pretty steady once the US MSRP was out. I was the third order through Yukon Yamaha and I ordered on December 17th - full MSRP $16499 Cnd.

I am not optimistic about getting the SupaT till our riding season is nearly over. We start getting below freezing temps in early September and it is pretty hard to ride in October.

You're right, Troll. I was thinking of the Calgary bike show, but it was the Toronto Bike show in December that the announcement was centered around. I was going to go ahead and order, but I was keen to go to the Calgary show so I decided to wait and at least sit on the big boy. I came back home and ordered the following Monday. #4.
I discussed the short season with Gary L. If the bike doesn't show up before mid-August, I'm going to get them to hold it over until next year and take it new in early 2012. I'm thinking that's what's going to happen now. The good news is that would give me another year to find the money. R

Yea Rem, I remember talking with you at the Dawson airport in December about the bike. We were both flying back to Whse. I remember you were pretty pumped about going to Calgary to the show and to see the SupaT. I will certainly be talking about other options with the boys at Yukon Yamaha if the bike is really late.

The great thing of the north country is the long summer days of sunshine, in case it does come sooner.
