My kit arrived last night. I will try to install it this weekend. How can you tell if you have the 3600 or latest 4000 lumen/lamp models? Rocky Mountain told me they were sending me a 4000 lumen kit but I don't see any labels or other indications.

Rotation is very important, I Followed the Cyclops install instructions that came with the kit and couldn't be happier, I suspect many kits are not rotated properly, sure they still work but not as good as they could if properly rotated.

Do you mean some of the Cyclops kits are not rotated properly or other brands? Oh, and I was able to verify that I have the latest 4000 lumen / bulb kit by sending a photo of one of the lamps to Darryl at Cyclops. Not sure what the difference in the appearance of the components is to the earlier kits, but it must be obvious.

I mean when you install the Cyclops kit the directions are very specific what position the holder for the bulb is supposed to be rotated to, they even provide a picture, I think it was supposed to be the 7 o'clock position but read the instructions to be sure, in my opinion Yamaha didn't make it very easy to tell what position your supposed to use, my Honda Goldwing only fits one way.

OK, got my kit installed this morning. Would have only taken about an hour, perhaps less, except that I wanted to change the little position lights too. Could just not get my fingers in there to remove the holder so ended up loosening the headlamp assembly and moving it out forward. Easy to access then, but that took most of the time. As it was I spent about an hour 45 on the project so far. As a side note, I discovered the four bolts that hold the windscreen bracket and farkle bar assembly to the composite substructure to be almost finger loose! I snugged those up and there seems to be a noticeable reduction in shake.

Back to the Cyclops kit. On the left side the driver box slid into place inside the housing with some room to spare, but on the right side I could not get it to completely drop in so ended up with the connector end protruding a little. I followed the directions which instruct the fit the box to the right side of the bulb on the right side. The new cap covered it with no problem so I think I'm OK. I've left my dash in-fill off until I have a chance to try the bike at night and check the aim.

The "Great Whites" LED driving lights I previously fitted made the OEM lights look brown but these Cyclops LEDs seem to be a skosh higher color temperature than even the driving lights as now they look slightly "warmer" in comparison. Oh well, can seem to get a complete match up. Looking forward to trying them out on the road.

I just installed the latest Cyclops lights on my 2012,about 2 months after I ordered them from Touratech.

The hardest part is stuffing the little brick inside the headlight housing, that took a while.Kinda ghetto stuffing everything in there, but whatever.I might disassemble the housing and Velcro the little brick in the housing at a later date.

Installed in my garage and took before and after pics and video. The light is brighter than stock, but not $175 worth of brighter. Was trying to get away from spending $500 on some Baja Designs auxiliary lights, but looks like I will have to get them anyway.Unless there is a huge difference on the street rather than the light projected on my garage wall,I really wouldn't recommend these for the price.Money would have been better spent towards Baja aux lights.

Hopefully, there will be a bigger difference on the street, anything is better than the stock though so thanks Cyclops for the alternative.

Top pic is Cyclops, both pics taken at roughly the same angle holding my phone above the windscreen and maybe 20ft away from the wall.I also might need to adjust the lights upwards a bit.

There is a huge difference on the street. Stock lamps have that extreme sharp cutoff on low beam that is downright dangerous trying to take corners aggressively. Cyclops eliminate this and better overall illumination besides this. I also notice the LED's almost double the reflection of road striping and road signs. I also left my lights aiming low like yours and run my high beams full time. No issue for oncoming traffic due to aiming.

But no headlamps will replace high output auxillary lighting.

There is a report of Cyclops LEDs burning out if you live in 365 days warm climate. The heatsinks aren't doing much if the ambient inside the housing is already very warm. It would be better if the heat sinks remain on the outside of the housing.

I got a set of Nighteye's LEDS with 6 chips (3 each side) and use a modified toilet rubber pipe coupler 3" to 1.5"(?) diameter reducer to act as a dust cover.

You are confusing Cyclops with Ebay LED's and others that use the heat sinks. Cyclops have a built in fan for cooling.

I 2nd the Bullet and have been very satisfied in the performance and value in the Cyclops product. Easy as pie install, lifetime warranty and better than stock light quality. My bike has been thru 5 sets of H7s and they're not particularly cheap.

Not confused. Genuine Cylops. Singapore user and he purchased it from the site. This is what was reported n just passing the info. only Cylops provides the modified dust cover and he has that installed. Heat sinks with fan is what the Cylops has. Regardless of thermal configuration, LEDs life reduces with exposure to high temperature. (150C max at junction temperature at the diode because thats when the epoxy melts). This is what is happening in a 365 days per year warm climate usage. YMMV. Lifetime warranty helps in case this happens, so good on Cylops standing by their product. But I believe it would work better and last heaps longer by leaving its heatsink on the outside. This my point.

I have the Cyclops lights in my 13 and love them ! They light things up about 3 times better than the stock h7 bulbs ever did. But I think the warranty is only one year not Lifetime , but I've been wrong way to many times. So far I only remember hearing of one member having one of the Cyclops bulbs quit working and they replaced it quickly and free of charge.

Yeah, my Cyclops bulb failed after a few months (one of the two LED's on one bulb burned out) but I didn't realize it until after the one year warranty was up. I am in the process right now to see what they will do, but the H7's are on back order. VERY disappointed. Thought these would last 5 years minimum. I know it burned out before the warranty was up because a few people that I ride with said one of my bulbs didn't look right but I procrastinated because I thought I had just messed up the alignment when I installed it. Regardless, a one year warranty is lame for a bulb that is touted to last 30,000+ hrs. The reason I spent $175 for the complete kit was so I would never have to replace my bulbs again.

I'm hoping they will make good so I am not going to bust them on this forum, unless they disappoint me, but the exact same bulb can be found for way less.

I had one of mine fail similarly also. I've read of one other failing as well. No idea of how many they've sold so not deriving any percentage of failures from that. Mine was a early life failure after less than 4 months, but a boatload of hours/miles during that time. I would have a better peace of mind with a lifetime warranty but that is very tough for any seller to offer. I paid $159 shipped for mine through RMATV. Also remember probably 1/3 of that price is for the deeper caps as you can buy a single H7 Cyclops for $58. I actually tried to purchase just the caps from Cyclops prior to buying the kit but they wouldn't sell them.

Cyclops has a 90 day advance replacement warranty policy. After 90 days they require you to return your defective lamp first, they inspect, repair or replace and return it to you. I didn't contact them until almost 4 months from date of purchase but they were very understanding and still gave me an advance replacement so it didn't impact my upcoming trip. They only required me to email a photo showing light oputput. They included a prepaid call tag for me to return the defective lamp. Good practice if an analysis of that failure was done. Hopefully they will be equally understanding with you an still give you coverage even after your warranty is expired.

I've had house LED bulbs burn out after just a few months also. I went back to fluorescent, thinking that they did not have the bugs worked out of their manufacturing process. I've had and heard of a higher failure rate than "old fashioned" bulbs. I still haven't replaced a head light in my '04 pick-up. I know, LEDs have been around forever, but that doesn't mean they're all made the same.

One of my cyclops bulbs just bit the dust. They have 15000 miles on them. one has been half ass working for a lot of those miles. They advertiz 30000 hours on the emitters. That is very misleading for me. The rectangle thingy on the wire rattles in the housing on rough sections. They are much better than oem. But for the money and the failure. I'm having a hard time justifying it. Their website only has 5 star reviews. They did offer 50% off on a replacement tho.

I have (2) if anyone needs them. I bought the kit, lost my patience and decided to try a different set-up.
