Getting closer to decision time. Had one on the Vee and it worked great. Did 10-11 hour days with no problem. Any recent purchases here that might have some feedback in regards to seat cover material, as in vinyl or leather and satisfied with the seat so far?
Talked to Corbin and they recommend the leather top and vinyl sides as a good combo. for durability which is near the top of my list for the Tenere.

I have one...not as comfortable as the other 4 I had on other bikes...and that might be due to more break-in (I got it just when the weather turned cold and haven't put as many miles on as normal).

Just ordered my Corbin yesterday....All black leather, base model. Seemed to be the best choice for the money. Tradionally, I've been parked on a Sargent, but the Corbin seemed to be where my heart was.

Corbin offers one free adjustment. Thinking of riding to Hollister next week for a Wizard Cafe lunch and a look at the Tenere seat.

Have you had some time on the seat yet? I just ordered one and hoping it sits me back a little like it did on my VStrom. Any info would be appreciated. They haven't started building it yet and I have some time to provide input.
Thanks.

Whats different about the corbin thats better than the stock seat??

I've always just dealt with the stock seat and this is the best stock seat I've ever sat on, so I'm just wondering what you're looking to get out of an aftermarket seat.

Any descriptions as to why its more comfortable would be great.

Oh and.. ::006::

I am looking for the ability to put more time/miles per day in the saddle. My butt is always the weakest link when it comes to shortening my mileage on any given day of longer distance touring. Stock seats are notoriously uncomfortable for anything over 200 miles or so. Corbin seats are designed and manufactured to better distribute your weight across the most surface area of the seat, which leads to less pain and fatigue and more riding stamina. IMO, a good, custom seat is at the top of list for add-on bang for your buck!

Funny you should mention...just spent 18 hours in the seat this weekend and it seems to have broken in.

Not one of the best Corbins I've had, but infinitely better than the stock seat. After 18 hours, no soreness or monkey butt, awhile a few of my compadres were complaining of same.

That is great news... I have my heated Corbin on order!

I decided to go with the Corbin since didn't want to be without a saddle for weeks if sent to Mayer or Russell. Will wait and see. BTW, even with Mayer or Russell some peeps aren't happy either so it is kind of hit or miss.

I ordered the Corbin also. Instead of buying direct I went to my local dealer. Bought the seat for 290 from him rather than 347 + shipping direct. He's happy and I'll be happy when I get the call to pick it up. I had my heart set on the Sargent but got tired of waiting.

Hmmm, I didn't know I could do that through a dealer. I just got mine in today. I got it without a stitch pattern since that is the way I've had others and like that look and easier to keep clean with leather cleaner. I've sat on it only after putting it on this evening but feels really good in the garage. No pictures needed since looks just like the web site pics without stich pattern.

I picked one up last weekend and really like it. Only problem is I'm only 5'7 with short arms. If I sit on the sweet spot of the seat the reach is to far. I just ordered some rox risers that will move the bars back an inch. Hopefully this helps.

Couple questions for those in possession....

Did Corbin address the forward cant the OE set has and most of us have done some mod to correct?
Are the rubber cushions on the bottom riveted on as most Corbins are?
Anyone want to stop riding long enough to post a pic of the bottom of the seat?

I had a Corbin on my FJ, and have the Yamaha / Corbin on my FJR, completely tickled with both. The FJR has a 19.5 hour stretch on it in one long haul, never could have done it on the OE seat.

I am also about the pull the trigger on a Corbin, I have always been happy with them on other bikes.

Can you raise the corbin like you can the stock seat setup?

Every pic I've seen seems to look like the corbin is in the "low" seat position. At 6' 6" tall, that doesn't work for me.

I have the Corbin heated and it sets up fine in both the high and low position.

I just pulled the trigger on the Corbin also. I have a week or so to decide if I want them to build up the nose to fix the slant. I ride the twisties up front so I might leave it flat or stock.
