Continental trail attack 3 opinions please

Hi guys,

needing some new tyres i only ride on the road 100% of the time, i have had 3 sets of michelin anakee 3 that were good tyre , good mileage but noisy my set at
the moment are michelin road pilot 5 they have been great wet and unbelievable in the dry but i,ve destroyed them in no time and at £270 a set i,m not going back to them.
now the guy that does my tyres said try the CONTINENTAL TRAIL ATTACK 3 they are a great grippy tyre and great mileage can i ask any you guys using these

I do have a set of Continental Trail attack 3 on my S 10 but I have changed them just before the end of my riding season and I didn't put too many km/miles on them...
I think I have made just over 2500 km (1500 miles more or less...).
They are grippy, the bike seems lighter and easier to be flicked around but I think ANY new tires would give a similar feeling.
I go searching for the roads with more hairpins as possible and it's easier and funnier driving with them.
They inspire more confidence on my driving,not sure I go any faster but I feel more secure so to say.
They go to ideal temperature very fast,on my very last trip this year I even unintentionally tried them on snowy and icy roads and again I felt very confident.
The wear(?) seems close to nothing so far,on the front tire I can still see the Continental logo..
I would not know how they are on off road because I don't care, the bike is too heavy for my strength to be taken on such roads...
If they last as much as advertised I would definitely buy them again.

You get a set of those and try them out. I just got a set of Dunlop Road Smarts but it's too soon to know anything. I too am looking for a good 100% street tire that doesn't break the bank.

Then you don't want the Pirelli Angels. My FJR kid loved the grip, but was only getting about 3-4k miles out of them. He has the Michelin 5s, and says they're lasting mush better.

thats what i did on the pilot 5 3-4000 my front tyre shape is shocking rear is bold in the middle edges blistered up lovely on a hot day but mileage bad, i got 9000 out of the anakee 3's

On the S10 I can only compare them with the OEM having had the bike just over a year...
They are "rounder" hence the sportier feeling you have back.
The front stays wherever you put when earlier it "moved" sometimes.
Also on tight corners, like u turn hairpins for a lack of better words, before at very low speed the bike sometimes seems to fell (not much of a technical explanation here but I just ride, I am not a motorbike tester...:().
Personally I like them a lot, I chose these over Pirelli Trail II because :
- They are supposed to last longer
- They're supposed to perform until the end of their life more or less the same...
Again time will tell but I am happy even though I didn't do too many miles yet.

I bought my bike with Bridgestone A41’s fitted. They were pretty new when I got them but about 2000 miles later and they still look quite new. I’ve ridden Bridgestone a lot previously and these feel the same , stable , assured more then enough grip - no off road though. Reading reviews of other rubber I think I’d just buy them again at the mo.

I like Michelins, I have had PR 3, 4 and 5 on various bikes including my S10 and I am a huge fan, however, these Continentals have had very positive reports and my friend had the Trail Attack 2 on his R1200GS and he loved them, so maybe, when my PR5s are due to be changed, I might give the Trail Attack 3s a try.
As a footnote, I was pleasantly impressed by the Bridgestone A41s that my S10 came with.

Mine are doing pretty good, got about 5000 miles on the pair and they are looking good for a a couple of thousand more. They have done a trip to the Harz Mountains and then along the length of the German Baltic coast, as well as 3 trips around U.K. but I don’t take a pillion, so maybe that makes a difference with less load on the bike?

perhaps its the weight as you say 2 up and luggage thats got at the rear, my front lost its shape bad to, to be honest great tyres tho but need more mileage at that cost

I tend to use the tyre pressures recommended by Yamaha, from memory, 34psi front and 38psi rear. I think the PR5s have a more supple carcass to improve ride quality than previous PR tyres.

i,m doing 36 f asnd 42 rear don,t know if this is a problem i tend to use these on all makes of tyre
