No idea if I can be there but I'll certainly keep an eye on developments. Whitehorse and Ouray were fun trips.

June is a good month as far as weather here in Arkansas. Once July hits temps are really on the way up. April is typically the wettest. Some of the D/S riders in this state have recently stood up a club called the Adventure riders of Arkansas or ARA. Many of the members of this club are knowledgeable of roads, trails and interesting spots throughout the state. They have also done Colorado so they probably can relate to what your expectations are. The ARA might be interested & helpful in the rally. They have some people and assets that may be nice such as an enclosed trailer for SAG support and escorting groups of riders on some rather unique rides. They can also help put together routes that can last from a couple of hours to multi-day camp-n-rides that figure in fuel and food. As one put it: “How do they want it? Tarmac, rough trail, mild trail…or all of thee above?” Not to many commuting routes though :D. If this sounds like it might be something you could use PM me and I’ll get you some contact information.

Hey folks....

Just so people can start to 'think' about the time frame. We are looking at Sep-Oct 2014... The summer months are just to freaking hot to have comfortable fun.. We are heading their soon, checking out and looking at several locations.... We are already getting Emails and phone calls about the 2014 Rally..

Plan on the next Tenere Rally bigger & better ::012::

I can't wait that long. I'm getting old and might not be able to ride when that gets here. :'(

I'm thinking Texas in March, WV in June, Ark in Sept. If I can make it happen it will be a great year.

I appreciate Dallara and Jaxon and crew and the WV contingency for some great riding opportunity.

I'm definitely in on this, I only get to ride up there 6 or 7 times a year and that's not enough.

Head north then. Great Lakes road rally? Michigan has ORV trails, Wisconsin has the Nicolet National Forest fire roads, Minnesota, Canada, etc... Weather isn't 110, and those people with jobs like me (teacher) can actually go.

FWIW: Here is what the typical temps/weather is like in Arkansas from April-July.

April

average maximum temperature 72.5
average minimum temperature 52.6
average precipitation 5.10 inches
southwesterly winds
April is considered to be the first true spring month with more consistent warmer temperatures. April also has the highest average rainfall. This early spring period is the time when the cabin fever blues of winter are washed away by spring showers and sunshine.

May

average maximum temperature 79.9
average minimum temperature 60.4
average precipitation 5.02 inches
northwesterly winds
May is one of the most popular months in Arkansas for traveling. The weather is moderate, early wildflowers are abundant, and trees are beginning to show plenty of new growth. Rivers, streams, and waterfalls swell with heavy flows from spring rains and provide many photo opportunities.

June

average maximum temperature 87.8
average minimum temperature 68.5
average precipitation 3.71 inches
southwesterly winds
June is the month when the heat and humidity of the summer begin to be noticeable. Temperatures still remain fairly moderate and participation in outdoor activities remains high. The early part of the month is usually quite pleasant.

July

average maximum temperature 91.0
average minimum temperature 71.8
average precipitation 3.41 inches
southwesterly winds
The old saying "Hot as a Fourth of July firecracker" applies particularly toward the end of the month. Temperatures can reach in the triple-digit range for short periods. Late July through early September generally signals a marked decrease in strenuous outdoor activities. This is a time when water sports are certainly the most popular activities.
