That old one room schoolhouse we stopped at, at least i thought Skunkworks said it was a schoolhouse, I was curious about how old it might be so stopped there on my way home to read the signs but there was absolutely no information about the building, apparently the parking lot is intended to be used by hunters.

You are right it was a schoolhouse. I think there was a plaque set up away from the school in the ‘school yard’ not in an obvious place. It is the Maxwell Schoolhouse and was built in 1889. Found it here https://slb.colorado.gov/historic-schoolhouses

Yes, the Plaque was at the front corner of the Lot, by the road.
You had to walk through the Gate (accessed from the parking lot) to get into the Yard.

The next stop was the former Town of "Vicksburg"

Not much left behind this Gate except Nature reclaiming the Lot.

The Cabins that remain are all privately owned.
One of the Cabin's Owner was present while we were there. Some of the guys had some nice conversation with the Folks.

On the way back out, I "May" have been going faster than posted limits.
I banged an embedded rock pretty hard at speed with the back wheel.
It dented the rim enough that I lost all the air through the bead of the tire.
Thanks to Mike's dead-blow Hammer, it was pounded back into shape fairly quickly.
I aired it back up with my 12-volt compressor, and I was good to go!

We made a final stop at the Arkansas River before heading south back towards Camp.

Trains once crossed here....................The Bridge is no longer......

This part of the River has been "Altered", and includes a Boat-Chute, a Natural Channel, and a Fish-Ladder.
River-Rafting is popular here.

On our way back to Town we detoured along the old Railroad Grade, and rode through the Midland-Tunnels.
It was raining at the time and made the road surface only a touch slick.
I did not stop to take any pictures of the Tunnels, but they will appear in an event-video from the weekend.

I shagged early but went home over Weston Pass. Thank you to SW for the planning. Nice to meet everybody.

PS. I usually keep in touch with my daughter on these outings but not much service where we were. She got worried , and called the BV police to look for me. "please look for an old guy laying in the ditch with his moto".
