Oh dude. That sucks! I had an accident in Canada last year and broke 4 ribs and fractured my shoulder blade. I’m so so sorry you got hurt. I hope you aren’t in to much pain.

I was fucked by the fickle finger of fate. Friday morning at the Touratech Rally in Plain, WA, we decided to demo some bikes before heading out for the rest of the day. The first demo was on a Triumph Scrambler 1200, and I was near the back of the demo pack. Dust was terrible, and I was only going 5-ish mph when the front tire instantly washed out as I crossed a sand/gravel-filled rut. The last time I hit the ground that fast, I was a kid trying to bike on ice. Annoying AF, but so it goes.

Huge shoutout to the team at Austin Moto Adventure, though. When they heard that someone at the event needed a ride to the ER, they not only got me a ride to the nearest hospital, but they also picked me up a few hours later when I was done and brought me back to the event. That's when they went full-on Texas hospitality on me. They then had one of their team drive me the 3 hours south to meet my family halfway, and they brought my KTM 690 back to my parent's house in Oregon after the event. They are absolutely exceptional individuals, and I highly recommend checking them out; I will be back at their facility in October for the Touratexas rally.

Matt, I'm guessing you won't be riding to/at the Ghost-Town event.
Should I take your name off the list? Unless you want to come hang out with us at Camp.........

Well, I am out. For good reasons (unlike Mad-Matt - sorry for the crash. Damn.).

My daughter passed her Professional Engineering test (Yay!) and next week, she goes on special assignment. That means I have her dog while she's travelling. I am gunning for parent of the year, so I'm going to cover Maverick while she's gone. I am close to retirement ("other opportunities"), and this is a great opportunity for her, so I'm going to pass.

Might want to leave me as a Maybe. The only thing that would knock me out would be having to work and sometime that happens to me.
