I like the fact that where you have those lights mounted, the light will follow where you are turning at night vs. fairing mounted that have a little delay until you straighten out. Wish I had thought of that before I ordered the Touratech lights, hmmmmm.

I looked at every single damn farkle LED/HID/.... Light on the market. (PIAA, Touratech, Twisted Throttle, OEM,...)
Compare ClearWater to Twisted Throttle(TT). For the TTs, their newest generation is nearly 400 bucks and it's only on/off.

Though the price of ClearWater can be a shock, it isn't much more when you factor in the ability to dim these lights.
Both sets are controllable with one switch and the large Krista's flash with the horn and everything goes ultra bright when high beams are on.

Not exactly. They have a dimmer built in if you choose to use it. It sets the brightness to 40% with low beam and 100% on high beam. They also were $349 when I bought them.

Whoa! Nice setup. I am still looking for a way to mount my 4'' Soltek/Fuego HID's. Those clamps you used might be a solution. Did you buy the seperately or did they come as a kit?

Does anyone have experience comparing these to a set of piaa 910 spots?

You can get the piaas now for just over $200.

I'd much prefer my low-cost HID aux lights but they seem to be just a hair too big and their mounting point is closer to the front of the light vs the 910s which is more towards the back of the light.

I have some piaa mounts coming so I'll see what I can come up with.

For me, the HIDs were the best solution for night time driving in out of the way places, the 910s coming in a close 2nd place. I like the LED dimmer options but I'm more interested in what I can see with the lights and how far ahead they throw light. LEDs have come a long way.

Somebody needs to do a comparison - single light at night:

1. Denali D1
2. Denali D2
3. Clearwater Glenda
4. Clearwater Krista
5. PIAA...

That would be interesting and make a good magazine article.

I think It would also need to include the trail tech HIDs and maybe the Hella Micro DE HIDs as well...

Keep in mind that its not only the 'light producing element' at play... its also the optics... Not in a good or a bad way.. I could give anyone a good idea these detail you ask in a comparison but im evaluation in not scientific and I dont have all the pictures for a good comparison... We do offer many of these lights. So I hope to have the real-comparison soon... Then people can really see a side by side comparison and choose the light that would best suit there riding / safety needs...

This is very true. If people are just going for a flood light, then the optics really don't mean much, but if they want a spot light then they can mean a world of difference.

With my D2's I went with the flood (40 degree beam) because the 20 degree "spots" were so very focused, which wasn't want *I* personally was looking for.

That's why I like my HIDs, they are a euro-beam pattern which is sorta right in the middle... wish there were more options for this.

I'm going to pull the trigger on some piaa 910s so when Jaxon is ready to do some comparisons, I should have those as an option.
