Chilly ride to work

I rode today to work and found out the air temp display only read down to 16F, below that simply says "low". What? They don't think we need to see the temp below this ;D All I can say is the bike is great, those plastic guards over the hands make loads of difference. I even saw another motorcycle coming home tonight, by then was a balmy 8 degrees. I enjoy cold riding, but then I enjoy hot too. Guess I'd just rather ride and the Tenere works well.

You da man. Nothing below 40 for me most of the time, even though I do remember riding in 21degree weather in Taos one "summer"

Yesterday morning when going to breakfast, my Temperature-Ometer was going down to "real temp" as the bike had been in the garage. When starting it, it said 41...maybe the inside garage temp. Started going down to what the temp really was. Saw 19, then next time I looked down, it said "Lo". I know I've seen it say 14 before....do not know where it switches off its brain. Maybe telling me that it's too darn cold to ride! (The factory heated grips are wonderful)

Wow, I feel fortunate, it chilly here, but not freezing cold. Compared to squidheadsoup and RonH I rode to work today in a balmy and wet 39F.

I would ride at 40*. Yesterday morning it was 26*, and today it's about 30*. I'll take the truck again today and hope the wx man speaks the truth about the rest of the week warming up.

Coldest for me was 18F going to work and my face mask froze over on the inside from exhaling but I would rather ride than drive. Wait a minute I don't have a car of my own anyway. ;D

27F this morning...37 on way home today. Always have to remember the runoff spots. Leave for work in the dark and head home in the dark. Winter sucks! And thank God for heated gear.

I actually like riding in the cold. Over 30 is enough for my heated gear to keep up. It's nice because in the cold is the one time on a bike I can control how warm or cold I am via the gear. Road to the gym last night and the cold ride back home felt great at 36 degrees.

You're lucky to have clear eneough roads to go with your cold weather. In these parts, cold = snow and ice everywhere.

37 and raining in Houston this morning. I would have ridden if it was not raining. Houston roads where I work are just to slippery when wet. Lots of oil on the road.

I'm just south of you. So I know the conditions you speak of.

To tell ya the truth, this recent span of wet-nasty-cold weather has resulted in the longest run of truck weather since I got the bike summer before last. Normally I ride in cold. (South Texas cold) and I usually don't let wet stop me either. But there is just something about this gloooooooomy run of crappy weather that has me walking past the ole girl every morning. And I feel a bit guilty about it.

I'm jones-ing for some sunshine real bad. :(

Y'all need to head South!
78 and sunny right now here in central FLA. ::025:: Had to break out the ventilated jacket this weekend as it was in the mid 80's. Got in a couple of hundred miles in perfect weather. ::26::
OTOH is sucks here in July and August and the roads are straight and flat. Think I will head West then! ::26::

Oh I know what you mean. I lived in Tampa/St. Pete for 5 years and Jacksonville for 2. So thanks for rubbing it in. :) its pay back for all the times I did it to my friends.
