Here are a few photos of Jaxon - Karson - Mechant on our recent trip to Arkansas to check out a few routes and locations for the 2014 Rally....

Many great roads in Arkansas

This is Shores Lake

Picking up some fire wood for that nights fire

This is an AWESOME BBQ joint we found !!

This is Jaxon and Karson. Im showing off my mud puddle splash down after my crash...

Karson crossing a creek

Karson again

Cool old house off the trail out in the middle of no where

Merchant *Scott*

War Loop

Jaxon

White Rock overlook, do you see Scott on the ledge

Cooking pan cakes on the fire, they are GOOD !

These guys are dorks.. ::)

We stopped by a Wal-Mart, as were standing there, a Harley is trying to make it though the parking lot. The guy is reaching down and putting his hands in the points and condenser and getting the crap shocked out of him.. His bike dies and he pushed it behind us at the front of the store. As he goes in the store we check out his "ride"..... It was brutal....

Another rough one

Waiting at the top

Looks like you guys had an absolute blast!

After your adventure, do you think Arkansas is a suitable locale for a Tenere gathering?

CD, I make no bones about it - I suck at off road. But I keep trying and have fun on most of it. What seems to trip me up is going uphill on trails wilth big rocks jutting out of them. I get going too fast and then get myself boxed into a corner. Gotta work on that.

What Jaxon left out is how he got that mud all over him. At the spot where Karson crossed that creek a couple times, we met some 4 wheelers. They told us of this trail that goes for about a quarter mile under the high tension lines and then pops back out onto the road. After a few questions, Jaxon and Karson go speeding off to check it out. Discretion being the better part of valor, I opted to sit tight and chat with the 4 wheeler guys. For what seemed like a REALLY long time to run a 1/4 mile trek, we waited for them to reappear. Finally, they show back up and Jaxon is covered with mud. I wasn't there, so I'll leave the rest to him. Bottom line - I made the right choice to hang back.

Can personally vouch for Arky having about any kind of terrain to tackle in whatever flavor you decide from highway to hellway. Spent a fair amount of time covering the west end of the state in my FJR days and just beginning to open up more for the memory banks on the S10. The Pig Trail run off of I 40 is a sure pleaser for getting twisted. Plenty of back roads to explore in that area to. (Something the Feej was always a bit shy about)

That creek crossing looks like Hurricane creek leading to Car Wash Falls, definitely a good ride. But in reality it could be one of a thousand creek crossings. The building was Mountain Crest Girls School back in the day. This particular school was a "finishing school" for young ladies. Nothin' like an Finished Arkansas gal!

Hey Boys, looks like you had a great time! Jaxon, love the haircut you're still sporting'.

The Las Vegas contingent of S-10 riders could sure use a date to start planning this one. I know you're juggling a lot of "things" that are up in the air right now, but there is a lot of schedules we have to adjust and Arkansas is not next door to us West Coast kids.

Alright, we look forward to seeing all of you again. I'm not winning the trophy next year!!! But it still looks good on the mantle! Luke

Hey Luke - no firm date yet, but the wheels are turning! If you're looking for something, expect it to be sometime Sept or Oct. Best we can give this far in advance. :)

More info to come after the holiday craziness goes away.

A lot of detail is going into this one, some of which are beyond our control and we just have to roll with, to give attendees the best possible week adventure riding. ::008::

Thanks Karson. We were thinking, out here, that it was a summer rally. A Fall rally will get the tempature a whole lot better for Arkansas, and if late enough, the leaves changing colors (leaves? What are those - out here in the desert?) but will throw all the school teachers out of the mix. I'm retireing, so it's not a problem for me personally. I'll be there!

The only thing that will throw me out of the trip is if it gets scheduled on Veteran's Day weekend. I take about 100 kids to Mexico with my church to build houses that weekend. Been doing that twice a year for 17 years and haven't missed a trip. Would be hard to justify to a bunch of High and Jr. High school kids that I'm not going.

You guys are great for taking your time and setting all this up for the unwashed masses out here. Hopefully, I can start helping, once I get this job "thing" off my back. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Luke

I'm mapping out vaca for this year. Hopefully you guys can name tentative dates soon. I'm trying to make this a big year for travel. I just need to plan accordingly.
