Sounds like you are out of the woods.

The dino oil is probably giving you the grabbier clutch. That ought to resolve when you go back to your regular oil.

Back to commuting this morning & the check engine light came on once. It was after a gradual roll off of the throttle on the highway. It has not happened again yet. It's strange that it did not happen once on my Saturday ride with lots of on/off hard & soft throttle. I might have to take it in to another shop to have the codes pulled. Bummer.

Since you just replaced the oil (& filter I hope), I might suggest adding 200cc before taking it to the dealer. If it really has the right amount already, an extra 200cc (6 oz) isn't going to be enough to hurt anything. If you didn't quite put enough in* and need a little extra to turn off the light (which is just a fluid level switch) then the extra should take care of it.

* It was running well on Saturday when hot and the oil expanded, so the fluid level should be at pretty close.

It is the Check Engine Light. Yes I did change the filter with the oil. After 3 days of commuting, the light has come on only the one time. I'm going to let it go for a while & see what happens. The oil level is still in the same spot as when I filled it. It still looks clean too. So that is a good sign.

Umm, the check engine light is actually really really important. It's not something to ignore, hope it goes away. Granted, they actually found an injector that was weeping, but the check engine light should have been checked first. The light comes on when there has been something detected that can cause damage to the motor and or the peripherals.

Again, if the light comes on, there should be a stored code.

The beauty of the new fangled vs the old. Used to be the light had to be on when you scanned for a code.

The guys at the shop had an opening next Wednesday, so we'will check the codes. They think if might be the TPS since it is so erratic in appearing upon decel. So I guess I'll wait until then to find the answer, I hope.

Re: Check engine light & Gas in oil again

Just checked the oil again this morning after commuting yesterday & guess what? More gas in the oil  I won't ride it again until Wednesday when I take it to the shop to pull the codes.

Just got back from the shop. They could not find any fault codes of any kind or type. The injector (s) IS/are still leaking, with more gas in the oil again. So I went ahead & ordered 2 new injectors with all 4 of the o-rings & a couple of oil filters. They should be here within a few days. The tech thought that with the leaking injector, it was messing with the O2 sensor or even the TPS settings at times. At least the engine will be really clean on the inside when I put the new oil put in.

Update - So far, with the new injectors being installed a week ago, there has not been an issue with gas in the oil.... Next update in another week.
