I was bored today so I thought I would add a little bling to the triple clamp. I like it but I think I'm going to try something different tomorrow.

Looks good! I need to do something like that as mine is starting to get scuffed up in that area.Longboard said:I was bored today so I thought I would add a little bling to the triple clamp. I like it but I think I'm going to try something different tomorrow.

Sorta the same, but in black. I got a scrap of black vinyl for the muffler cover from a sign make and then used a scrap of that for the key area. The area had scuffed badly on the FJR & looks much better with the vinyl there.Gat said:That looks nice!
I cheaped out and used some left over white background sticker material from the WASP stickers. It sure saves the triple tree from key marks.
I have only two keys (bike and cases) on a soft fob for precisely this reason. I keep all of my cage and house keys on a separate ring. Not to say protection wouldn't be nice when you accidentally slip with the gas nozzle one day.Freebird said:I would be interested. I bought a set of your decals for the other areas of the bike but it leaves the area around the gas tank fill lid exposed when you open it and have extra keys on the key ring.
On this past Saturday, I uncovered my bike and found nature left me a new key surround in the form of a Praying Mantis egg case like this one. GROSS!Longboard said:I was bored today so I thought I would add a little bling to the triple clamp. I like it but I think I'm going to try something different tomorrow.

Yeah I put the nest in the bushes so it should survive but, it was like trying to remove that expandable foam insulation after it dries.Longboard said:Actually I find that kinda cool. I have a few Plumaria's in my back yard here in SoCal and I get Praying Manti's every year that hang out and kill the leaf eaters that attack my plants. I've kinda become a big fan of the Mantis.

Yeah, my brakes do that, but less and less as the rotors wear in. The grind they did was pretty aggressive.Kevhunts said:Yeah I put the nest in the bushes so it should survive but, it was like trying to remove that expandable foam insulation after it dries.
I nick-named my bike the "blue cicada" cause it's blue and the front brakes have buzzed since day one...might have to change it to "blue mantis". Come to think of it, the front end does look like a bug's face ::013::
