The thing is 'why change it for nothing?'. The s10 engine emits all sorts of noise and I wasn't sure if the CCT was failing and contributing to all the noise. From the video of Checkswrecks it sounds like a failing CCT emits a very distinct, loud metal-to-metal noise. This isn't the case with my bike (yet!).

You are talking to the guy that lost the complete engine. Rebuilt from the crankshaft to the head. They had my Tenere for 3 months and 23 days. Luckily I still have my KLR.

So the cost of a new Cam Chain Tensioner and Install is CHEAP.

BTW my 2012 blew-up while starting it to go to the dealership to have the CCT replaced.

I agree. It's cheap insurance to just go ahead and replace it. Sometimes there's no warning, it just blows up.
