Hi all. Is there an easy way to tell if the cam chain tensioner on my 13 Sup10 has been updated to the newer version? Like markings on it or something?
yep sorry mine was a 23P gen 1 before i changed to a manual2BS indicates a Gen2 upgraded part. Gen1 CCTs were 23P. See post 26 on the link below.
CCT replacement manual or auto (yamaha)
hi boris, can you see the numbers that easily then, cct is on the right side isn,t it but not exactly shore tho rob Yes, with a torch the numbers are very easy to read. Right hand side, between the tank and the frame rail, almost next to the battery side panel, just shine a torch and it's...www.yamahasupertenere.com
Yep, if it starts to deteriorate in its operation, or if it reaches the end of adjustment, the chain will start to rattle, most likely on start up first. The rattle will just get steadily worse and not disappear once warmed up.My stock gen 1 started rattling at 20k miles. I put in the first updated cCT 50k miles ago. Not a rattle since. I’m assuming if my cct reaches the end of adjustment again. It will slowly start rattling again. IDK
Bumping old thread.Hi all. Is there an easy way to tell if the cam chain tensioner on my 13 Sup10 has been updated to the newer version? Like markings on it or something?
Tensioner Assy, Cam Chain Item #2BS-12210-00-00 |
Hey AndyCBR, Did you “PM” Tabasco on this website? I’m quite curious what he says the newest version is. The one I had installed in my motorcycle in 2019 was: 2BS-12210-01-00. Maybe we both will get an answer.Bumping old thread.
I have a 2012 that I upgraded the OEM CCT with the 2014 version in 2014 with the following part:
Tensioner Assy, Cam Chain
Item #2BS-12210-00-00
It is my understanding there was another update to this CCT and the new part number shows up as follows for a 2022 model:
Tensioner Assy, Cam Chain
2BS-12210-02-00
Anybody know the difference and if it's significant enough to warrant changing the 2014 version to the newest version?
I'm confused as to what changed between the first and second revision.
TIA!
Andy
