Breaking the 100Hp Barrier

Hello All,

A friend sent me the article at the link below about jacking the power for an OEM Super 10 from the standard 85Hp (at the wheel) to 103Hp by changing the exhaust system, remapping and fuel tuning with a Power Commander. That's quite a substantial increase, better than 20%!

http://rideapart.com/articles/adding-power-project-tenere

So I'm thinking of taking the plunge. But instead of a Yosh slip-on, I'd like to go with an complete Arrow system. Trouble is, I can't seem to locate an Arrow collector for a 2014 S-10 (and I know Yamaha eliminated the crossover for the 2014 model year). Does anyone know where I can source complete Arrow systems for the 2014 model year or do you know whether a 2013 unit will work?

Thanks in advance.

We have worked with customers for almost four years performing these mods. Ive also developed 75+ fuel maps to work with different setups. Im very well versed on how to make the power with the Tenere. It can be done, have it on my own Tenere. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions... Makes a huge difference in the bike.

There are several Teneres at the Rally(s) (and more that are not at the rally) that have the setup you are referring to. And yes, Jaxon has had his mits on a fair share of them.

I don't know the exact RWHP numbers, but you can tell which ones have had the treatment.

Love it when 70 or 80 Teneres fire up in the morning and a select few cause everyone to look over and see which ones they are. :)
They got a nice bark to them when they get the full treatment. Snarly little devils. And it's not just decibels I'm referring to.

+1 on Arrow System, I have 105 RWHP (On a fairly conservative Dynapro Dyno)

As long as you make sure you get a solution to fuel it properly, some flash vendors will flog you a Flash that surges with Arrow Headers, I got it spot on with the 2nd Flash which was also done on a dyno as a custom flash - made massive difference over original flash / Headers setup.

Dunno how much faster it is, but it feels much smoother and the dyno shows it beating the stock horsepower by a mere 6,000 rpm, which for me is the real gain, a lot more power at a lot lower revs.

And the round trip, Ottawa to Dallas-Ft Worth, could be an adventure in itself.

::) Good point!

I've heard that a few folks have had a "tuning package" shipped and then walked through the install. Not for everybody, I venture, but if you can you can.
The package is all the stuff mentioned above. Arrow headers, muffler, PCV, AT, Maps, and I think is built around an ECU flash too.
Kind of pricey to go full boat, but the part that is FINALLY appealing to a non-tuner like me is that these other geeks have spent a few years chasing the bull's-eye down.
99% of the guess work is gone now. Plug and Play has arrived.

I started my journey in March 2015. I learned about Fuel Injection and how it all goes together by reading all the amazing posts.
My 2014 Non ES TENERE is now Very FAST & Runs great, Idle is strong! I'm 225 LBS, and the bike really moves! 45 - 47 MPG

Jaxon at Ride On ADV has been extremely patient and helpful. When you buy parts from him, it comes with real support and performance. Pay a little extra to him and he will help you thread the needle. I'm a little computer savvy, and lightly mechanical. It all just requires patience.

Performance Mods: ECUnleashed, Arrow Headers, Power Commander V & PC Auto Tune. BMC Air filter.
Maps: Jaxon's map is very good. Every time I try to second guess it, I cause problems. Just let the Auto Tune refine his map for your bike.

Two Bros S1R Slip-On Exhaust System with S1R Carbon Fiber Canister -I WOULD NOT BUY THIS Muffler again. It is LOUD and the supports strap is not sufficient. I should have bought the Arrow or Akrapovic from Jaxon.

ADJUSTING THE EXHAUST GAS VOLUME -- what used to be the CO -dash mod. In 2014 they got rid of the green wire in lean angle sensor, so you have to go to the Dealer for the change in the Exhaust Gas Volume setting. I'm supposedly at +30. The dealer does not let me in the work bay, so I am not 100% sure about this.

3/4 - turns out on the Right Throttle Air tube screw & synced the Left one to the Right. (use a Carb sync kit. I used Motion Pro Sync Kit).

What an amazing bike!
