I was reading the owner manual and I found a recomendation about to change brake lines (pipes) every 4 years, then searching at Internet I found Galfer Spain www.galfer.es or www.galferusa.com (spain page is more complete), a factory who develop brake products
I´m thinking to buy some pieces for my motorcycle from Galfer, I checked Spain page, asked about and they gave me some advices.
Kit of front brake pads specific FD178G1375
http://www.galfer.es/asp/ficha_calidad.asp?ids=481681756052333226&id_qualita
t=G1375&id_producte=FD178&p_cataleg=M
rear brake pads FD295G1371
http://www.galfer.es/asp/ficha_calidad.asp?ids=481681756052333226&id_qualita
t=G1371&id_producte=FD295&p_cataleg=M
Front line (or pipe) CE017
Rear line (or pipe) CE017R
Te idea is change brake lines (pipes) for the Galfer`s metalic lines (pipes) .They explain to me that change improve brake power, eliminate fading, or weak .... I can´t find the exact word to explain in english, but the feeling that the brake is not enough intense
The lines I had seen in the Galfer´s website looks like the BMW GS1200 brake lines looks stronger then the original rubber brake lines in ST
There are somebody who changed brake lines ? or know more about metalic brake lines? Do you have some advice about ?
Thanks

You're talking about stainless steel braided lines. Very nice to have. The original lines, while very strong, still have some give in them. They will absorb some of the hydraulic pressures being applied which can give you a spongy sensation to the brakes over time. The steel braided lines don't have that give to them so brake application stays firm. The rubber (silicone) portion of the lines don't get work fatigued as fast either, usually resulting in longer life. Braided lines are also very nice for the clutch lines as well. And they look cool. ;)
We've got Jaxon doing longer lines for the handlebar controls. We've got Eric doing the twin line retrofit for the front calipers. I don't think anybody has done anything for the rear swing arm yet.
Galfer does good stuff. If their product is specific to the Tenere and not a generic fits-all sort of thing, the fit and finish should be outstanding.

Check here: http://www.galferusa.com/brake-lines-2012-yamaha-super-tenere/

Galfer is making a complete, 9-line stainless-steel braided front/rear brake (including lines to/from the ABS pump) & clutch set that replaces all the rubber lines on the ST. Part # is D771-9

However they missed the opportunity to get rid of the cross-over front brake line setup.....but I bet Galfer will do this for you for very little extra (they have done custom stuff for me in the past at very reasonable rates).

Looks like the set is selling for $300, and you can get extended lines as well for $10 extra. Lots of different hose colors available as well. http://www.cyclebrakes.net/fk003d352-c-2.aspx

How much of an extension does the Super Tenere need with handlebar risers?

thanks for your advices.
Jaxon, if you like, not to disturb the forum with personal topics, can you send me an email to know more about your project of brake lines, my email lu6xpt@gmail.com
I continue researching about "brakes" I think i have enough time to really need changes (my ST only have 2 years since factory, and less since I bought it)
In other kind of news maybe next week I will upload some pictures about U.F.O. project, now I changed main lamps for Xenon 35 Watts lamps in 4300k, take off the crash bars to tune up, paint and re locate support for auxiliar led lamps (change from halogen to 30 watts led) and add another pair of 9 watts led lamps.
thanks again

We are very close to offering the stainless steel individual front brake line 'kit'.. It has taken quite some time to come up with the correct parts we need... We are building them soon.... ::008::
Will you be offering them in colors? I prefer the coated lines in black.

Standard color will be black, like the clutch/brake long lines we offer :)
