Hi All,

I just "discovered" the Super Tenere in late July. Living in the Ozarks limits a persons news to only late news.

Last night I was talking to a S10 owner and I found out that the S10 sale/ordering was a one time thing and ended in May of this year.

Here I thought a person could still order one and I come to find out that you can't. What the heck is this all about. I want one! !

Now I have to start looking around to see if someone has one I can buy. Plus, if I happen to find one, then I'll be among a select, small group of riders who actually have a bike that can't be ordered :)

WOW !

There's one on eBay at the moment in Madison, Wisconsin. Looks like it was a demo or something (123 miles) and all farkled up with OE accessories.

Well I do not have any info that is beyond speculation. But I was talking to a Honda guy about the NT700V and he said they had a three year plan. So I think Yamaha will not do a one and done. Gieen the fact that they must commmit to supplying replacement parts for a specified number of years, it would seem to make sense that they will continue to sell the bike here. Please understand that I do not work for Yamaha nor do I speak for them in any fashion. What I say is based on what I was told and may not be reflect corporte policy.

stopped at my dealer whilst out on a 4 day ride. he sold 9 s10's and had just found out that yamaha was planning to redistribute 180 bikes that are left. he expects to get some as his overall sales numbers are high...so keep looking if Tony's deal disappeared before your deal is made

Hmmm, are these some that were not sold due to the folks that cancelled out on their orders?

Which dealer? I was at Romney on Saturday - they sold nine too - or are you talking about them? Dealer meeting is this week where plans for next year will be announced.

WELL ::016::

::020::

Things are REALLY looking up. I spoke to Tony, gave him some plastic to try melting and I'm now scheduled to pick up my S10 on the 24th.

Thanks to all who helped me in my search for the gem of the East SSSSSUUUUUPPPPPEEEERRR TTTTEEEENNNNEEEERRRREEEE

The adventure now begins anew starting in less than two weeks.

I went to Alaska in 08 and 09 and I'm thinking seriously about going back next year around June.

FUN FUN FUN

congrats on the delivery. the 24th will be a good day.

i haven't been to alaska since 06 and would really like to head up to prudhoe bay again, but on the tenere this time. if you're interested and need a good excuse, the MTF is planning a UCC ride next year. here's the website with more information:

There’s a big Super Tenere Bash in the works for the Yukon Territory around that time. Link:

I was thinking of heading up to the big state in June and catching this shindig on the way back…even though it’s gonna be like a bajillion miles from here in Tampa. ::26::

I had previously thought about doing the Key West to Prudhoe Bay run before I heard about a Tenere. Now I'm thinking harder about it. But I like to stop and smell the roses once in a while and that schedule doesn't seem to allow for a lot of that. I wouldn't think anything set up for IBA members would have very much "stopping" period, much less, any smelling of roses time. :)

It looks like you can leave Key West earliest on the 2nd of June and you MUST check in at Fairbanks on the 15th latest. That calculates out to a minimum of about 350 miles per day or so. A stroll in the park for your average IBA member.

Some days I might not go 200 miles in a day depending on where I am, what the weather is like, and how I generally feel at the time. And in an event like that, once you get behind, it then becomes all about the schedule.

I saw another response about a get-together in Whitehorse next year. I might try to combine that with the Key West to Prudhoe Bay run. Plenty of time to plan though.
