Not at all. Completely different motors. I rode a friends GS on Sunday and that is a motor that fails to impress. Feels like you're constantly caning it to make it go. I'm quite happy with the S10 just seeing if it can be made better. '14 owners that have had the ECU reflashed seem a silent lot. My biggest fear is that I won't be as happy with the bike after a reflash as I am now.scott123007 said:Hmmm...
One of the drawbacks of owning an Explorer before an S-10
Totally agree.Donk said:Not at all. Completely different motors. I rode a friends GS on Sunday and that is a motor that fails to impress. Feels like you're constantly caning it to make it go. It seems to me that the parallel twin revs up faster and spins freer than the boxer motor. That is only based on my experience, I have no technical proof. Maybe we should ask Kevin Cameron over at CW magazine? I'm not going to knock the GS but I also didn't find it as comfortable as the S10. In fact my back was killing me after the first hour. For me the S10 is the better fit.Lutsie said:Totally agree.
I like the gs but the opposing twin does not hold a candle to a parallel twin.
My father in-law has a 1200rt loves it but was really jealous when I got the tenere. He said it reminds him of how much the rt sounds like a a little truck.
i seem to be finding the same thing....or i'm not doing a good job with my searching. almost every flash review i've been able to find has come from pre-2014 s10 owners. and since the stock map on 2014 and newer teneres is significantly different, it's hard to judge whether it's a worthwhile upgrade to my 2014 ES.Donk said:...'14 owners that have had the ECU reflashed seem a silent lot....
