It is hard to fault that price. Do you ride offf-road? How sturdy is this set-up? Thanks!
Unfortunately off-roading is strictly forbidden, with huge fines here. But the outer case is aluminium with heat dissipating fins, although after 2 hours riding they still were not hot to the touch, they are very bright and I had to lower them a touch so as not to piss of the cagers. The wiring is very good with a solid waterproof outlet, the cable itself is good quality and the actual wire is not too thin that you cannot solder.

Denali DM from Twisted Throttle. I've had them on several bikes and they really improve daytime visibility and night time riding. Look good too! I would think Twisted Throttle is capable of handling international orders. They are GREAT to do business with.

Baja designs has a Super Tenere kit with the Onx lightbar below the headlights, two spots and two floods. Saved my life, literally, from hitting a moose. Not cheap though. And VERY bright.

My please don't hit me lights are a set of cheapy LED floods mounted down low and wide on the engine guards. I keep them on all the time and everyone notices them. The Onx is too vile to other cars to keep on though.

Im looking for something to hopefully help me not hit a deer again...but...I really dont like splicing wires/soldering etc. Is there anything I can get that would plug straight into one of those spare sockets under the right side fairing panel??

You can buy the female end of the OEM plug, that will fit into the switched leads, I went direct to battery, that way avoided any splicing or interference with the bikes electrics.

I was going to start a post asking a question similar to this but I looked first ::025::

Anywho, while I know its subjective, I was hoping to get some feedback on current gen lights (since this thread was started a while ago).

I used an ADVMonster M60 as a headlight for a harley for a while, and I loved it, so I figure a pair of those would be awesome. But then I see people with the light bars and wonder if there is something "better" out there.

My local stealer has some weird lightbar from (he says) ez go, which means i dont really trust it. also, its rated at less lumen than the ADVMonster M60, but I know those numbers can be fudged. I kinda want to get it but I dont even know how the hell to mount it, since its got a single mount point in the middle. This is it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Inch-Dual-LED-Light-Bars-with-Harness-Club-Car-EZGO-Yamaha-Golf-Carts-/261666145923

So what Id like to know is what would be a few good lights to look into that wont break the bank?

Thanks!

Thanks for checking before starting a new thread.
afaik - Every light in this thread is still available, and easily can be found with Google which will net you opinions of users on other styles of bike, too.

Is there a maximum dollar amount before you break the bank?

"Best" is definitely subjective, much like an oil thread. I elected to spend the dough on the Baja Designs OnX light bar when Tabasco put together a group buy. I could have spent a lot less on another product, since most of my riding is daytime in the city, but I'm very happy with the overall quality of the light.

I had a few sets of denalis with mixed results (read: reliability).

I have since gone to Rigid, with skeena dimmer. Love the light.
Stupid bright even at 20% dimmer setting (pic shows rigid at 20% and 55w HID on low beam) https://www.flickr.com/photos/97730749@N03/17069636457/in/set-72157652221271505

install here: https://thetenerist.wordpress.com/2013/11/04/rigid-e-series-6-light-dimmer-and-switch-install/
With you no this one Greg, worst money I have invested on the bike and I will never do business with TT againe. I ended up going with Rigid and after 2 1/2 years with no problems I would recommend .

Jaxon did his Lumens-upgrade to my bike.
Fancy switches, and he explained when you use which lights.
But to tell the truth, he got my regular headlights so bright I don't need to ever hit those switches.
Besides, I'm afraid to turn them all on. Seems like I would get arrested immediately.

This is the actual pattern.....(way underexposed)

This is DAYTIME at your finger tips.

Pretty sure the lights are all BajaDesigns stuff, except his custom switches.
And most of you have seen his setup already. But it's when you see his detail work that you get impressed. The wiring routes and connectors and switches are so well done.

Jaxon, aka Tabasco, runs RideOnADV, out of Ft Worth, TX. For lights, I know Baja Designs are his go to choice (and I took advantage of his group buy for an OnX lightbar), and that he makes custom brackets for the handlebars to mount small lights there (I have a set of these as well). I am so spoiled by the lighting on my bike, that I want to do something similar to my truck and my quad...

Ok, now that I am thoroughly confused (didnt take much) whats the exact part number for the Yamaha OEM foglights?
Maybe I am blind but I DO NOT see them anywhere at the Yamaha Tenere website under accessories.
It looks like anything else is hard to install or has problems in one form or another.
Seems like a No-brainer, but apparently it isnt. I'd like to obtain something thats easily available, not backordered.
thanks again.
That's because they don't sell them in the US. The Yamaha oem fog lights are H7 Halogen bulbs, same as the headlights, and come with the full plug and play harness. You can sometimes find them on ebay or thru a Canadian dealer. US Yamaha dealers have been selling PIAA 530 kits that are nice LED lights, but don't come with a plug and play harness, you have to get the plug parts from Eastern Beaver.

As you can see from this thread, there are a metric ton of choices for lights. www.LEDRider.com sells good quality Chinese imports, (he imports them directly and his customer service is top notch). There are lots of other good sellers too. I have an older set of the square Long Range Optimus LED lights in 10º spot that are sold from various vendors, got them here: http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/dual-sport-bike-lights.html w/o any dimming BS, just the lights and harness. I wired it to my high beams and an inline toggle switch so I could have them off if desired during high beam use. They have had zero problems and just worked for ~60k miles or so, including Alaska/Yukon and an IBR. I run them on KC Highlites mounts http://www.kchilites.com/accessories/light-mounts/universal-tube-clamp-mounting-brackets.html that are sold individually for <$20 each. Very solid. Mounted to my Rumbux crash bars.

Lights are about how you want to use them. Do you want to see better, or be seen? Most HID aux lights are useless in traffic because they are simply too bright and have no cut off. I do run a DOT legal HID light as well, but it's no longer sold. (Xenarc 1010) Some of the self contained HID lights are very bright, and pretty heavy too. Consider that when you look at how you will mount them.

Install an Eastern Beaver Aux. Fuse block and you won't have any problems installing lights cleanly. No relay needed for LED lights in most cases. Just power, ground and a switch and most instructions that come with the lights will get you there w/o hassle.

I've had a great experience with Clearwater. Glenn (the owner) is a great guy to do business with and really stands behind his product. The lights are very well built, absolutely waterproof and last forever.
