Help! I don't need more power but I hate listening to the engine all the time. I have a set of hepco and Becker panniers and need an exhaust to fit underneath. I wear earplugs so don't mind If it is noisy. Any recommendations?

Not sure why you mention the panniers. Any exhaust for the Super Ten should work fine.

Also not really sure what you're looking for in an exhaust. You wear earplugs, so don't mind loud, but the engine noise bothers you?

Are you just looking for more 'attitude' from the exhaust? There are some good sound bites for various exhausts on the forum, try some search attempts and see what sounds good to you.

Arrow, Akropovic, Two Brothers, LeoVince, GPR, Yoshimura, etc. in various flavors of carbon, Ti, Stainless are all out there. There is no "best", just what you like the look and sound of for your stated needs.

No, any exhaust will not work. The original Hepco Beckers are unique and are run very close to the muffler exhaust. HB came out with an "improved" design that doesn't hug the rear muffler exhaust. Not sure if anyone has really found a set-up that works for the old style HB panniers.

Thanks. This is what I had heard. I have a very new set of H&B quick release and can't see why any after market exhaust wouldn't fit but was hoping to find out from others. The bracket is al least 1" clear of the cover on the exhaust and I thought a new slip-on exhaust would fit completly under the cover anyway.

Yeah it sounds a bit silly but earplugs only block out certain types of noise. The engine mechanicals can be clearly heard and its not a noise I like. I know there are lots of opinions but part of MY motorcycle experience is to enjoy a nice exhaust note. There are lots of reports when doing research of slip-on exhaust that don't fit with HB quick release sets. Not sure why and so was asking members from personal experience. The sounds bites you refer to are almost always while the bike is stationary and at idle. I was hoping for some personal experiences again on what they really sound like.

Thanks for pointing out my error. Those pesky German engineers at play again. ;) Is this still an issue if you remove the oem heat shield, or use a shorty verion?

Arrow will not work with the original HB. Not sure about gen 2.

The Arrow is awesome!

I agree with you and part of motorcycling is a nice exhaust note. I prefer deeper tones and think the Arrow provides this the best. I took the baffle out of mine and love every minute of it.

I've ordered a Two Brothers so I hope it fits. I think I have the 2nd gen of HB bracket as the brace goes behind the number plate and not under the guard. Anyway, I'm sure I can make it fit as I have a really big hammer and an oxy kit. :)

i would bet that works with the Arrow - the original HB went straight across and pushed on the carbon tip.

I love the bark the Arrow gives - it might be a touch on the loud side in canyons but otherwise its OK.
