Where were going, we don't need roads...
I hit a car after it cut in front and braked hard. I attempted to avoid it and braked hard, I managed to swerve the front wheel round it's right but the engine bar punctured the bumper and was bent back towards me, I was then thrown forward and dropped the bike on it's right.
The garage checked it over and it's all ok, except obviously the engine bars need replacing, and the mounting tabs on the frame are bent.
To get to the point... Has anyone else had this happen? I have been told that the insurance company will insist on a frame replacement which will probably cause it to be written off.
The garages advice was that if I'm happy the tab could be bent back and the engine bars replaced for less than my excess so I should not claim on my insurance.
Is it ok to bend these back considering I'd be relying on them again when I replace the engine bars?
Appreciate your comments, Thanks, Chris.
