Just replaced the stock tires here in Vegas, during the early part of a 12 week de-stressing ride. from Whitehorse to Baja Took the wings off at 9000km ( 6000miles) rear was almost totally done(forgot to take a pic) frt was probably about 50%. Changed to Hiedeneau K60 for the rest of my trip (Baja) Almost all miles except breakin period were fully loaded (3 Pelican cases-2l xtra fuel & drybag) with a substantial rider (250+ gearedup) O:) on bad Northern Canada /Alcan hyw chip seal roads or US non-interstate roads going way to fast ::005::
Heard lots of good things about these K60's I'l let you know

Decided to do a lot of "firsts" today. First ride on the Anakee II to scrub it in. Took along my new camera (Sony TX10) for the first use, and first time using a camera mount on the S10.

Scrub in new Anakee II

My method for the scrub-in is always the same, head out to the nearest dirt/gravel road and power slide around as many corners as possible in the deepest gravel sections (thank you TCS2). Cleans up a tire real fast. Good, because I didn't make it to the bottom of my driveway without having the ABS kick in as I left the house.

I like the camera. It's waterproof, shockproof and dust proof. Perfect for the Tenere.

You Tube appears to have loaded this video with a pretty low resolution. I'll have to figure out how to get the full resolution loaded, because it takes a nice picture/video.

The Ram camera mount on the crash bar is obviously horrible. Will need work out a better spot to put the camera.

Nice video! I look forward to your report on the Anakee as i have pretty well decided that those are Freebird's next pair of shoes.

I too, am at 7500 miles on the battlewings. slightly more tread left, maybe 1000 more. most miles were lightly loaded, just me @ 220 (wet) and a tail trunk @ 40lbs. will be going with the continental trali attack as used on my wee.

Interesting, I've never been able to get 7500 miles out of any rear tire of any brand without running into the wear bars on my Wee/Vee/S10. So I have to believe it is road condition and riding style making the difference. I tend to be pretty aggressive on rough, patched, beat up old pavement. I usually I seek out those type of roads, and I'm guessing that would shorten tire life. Congrats on getting up to 8500, that would an all time record for me.

Hmmm, rough decision!!! :)
Ya... Well... A guy's gotta have standards. It was a package deal and she refused to sell it. <shrug>

What can I say? I've never really been much of a car guy.

I've got 11,600 miles on my front Battlewing and it still has some life in it.
