Hello from sunny Dundee, I love having the ten cause there's very few of them about. Had a trip down to the lake district at the weekend and did see another couple though.

Hi from sunny Clacton, Essex. When it comes to price, the list price of the S10 is irrelevant. They are heavily discounted by many dealers (up to £2000 off) and that brings the second-hand price down too. Example, I bought my first privately , fully loaded including SATNAV, 1 year old, 3000 miles 30% less than list (without the extras) and my second as a 6 month old demonstrator at £3000 off.

Welcome from an ex-Brit.

I'm suprised the S10's are priced so high over there.

There's a fully farkled, flashed 2010 S10 for sale here (Alberta) (Retail Low: $11,648.00 Retail High: $12,896.00) - that's about £6,300 - £6,900. How does that compare? Fly out, buy it, ride the rockies and ride it back to the UK. lol.

From Notts myself and have recently taken the plunge and bought a Tenere. Testrode a few bikes prior (for the hell of it) and accidently fell in love with a blue S10. Had a blat on a Tiger Sport 1050 and Explorer but both disappointed me especially the Tiger... I deffo thought they were both top heavy which put me off from the start... I loved every thing about the big Yam and it hides its 'achilles heel' real weight very well. Throwing the S10 around on the road more than I did on my previous TDM900... ;D Oh n Hi mate! :)

No probs Somerset. Being honest the only thing for me thats 'perhaps' a little underwhelming is the throttle delay when picking the tempo up, but from reading the boards on here and elsewhere, seems can be sorted fairly dramatically via a reflash. Not a big issue, but something I may look at doing in the future... Good luck at the weekend!

Yeah, the S10 is a real surprise, I was expecting a heavy feel to the bike both with low speed maneuvering and getting it to swing through bends at speed and was amazed on the demo ride, I think the TDM i slet down by bouncy suspension, my Mrs bike was lovely on smooth roads, but awful on the other 99% of the roads near us before we spent £450 on the suspension - the S10 works much better out of the crate.

That was the nail in the coffin for my TDM at the end..., the somewhat bouncy handling n vague front end. Like you said give it a smooth surface n it was a beaut, but give it the opposite n I stuggled to hold a line. Could of had some help with the suspenders but after test riding the Tenere any ideas of thatwere just blown away... Been for a razz again tonight and am consistant being suprised at the big chiefs handling. Makes me look half talented! ::014:: Told me Mrs, (as part of the convincing her we need a new bike process) buying the S10 should and would slow me down... Ooops! ::)

My TDM900 was exactly the same, couldn't go back to that but it does look like the S10 deal can be done. Will know on Wednesday!

Hi Tenbob, funnily enough the Tex & Tiger sport are both my last two bikes from Triumph, the sport was a replacement for all the trouble I had with the Explorer, some caused by the dealer & some by the factory after/during the head change. I tried to do a deal on the Tex last winter but couldnt get what I wanted then I finally got a response from the main man at Hinckley. I loved the paint on the (red) on the Tiger Sport but after touring Europe this summer I found out how poor it was at the touring side of Sports tourer. Even with the comfort seat fitted it was like an implement of torture, the touring screen was useless (very noisy) the clock were poor quality with intermittent faults with the fuel gauge going to zero for no reason, this was partly why i took the decision to get rid as I wasnt prepared to through the trouble with warranty claim associated with intermittent electrical issues. I wish Triumph the best of luck but they need to sort out some of there "corporate" style dealership whos customer care is none existent. They also need to sort out some of there component Quality issues on the bikes.

If you see a Blue un in the Derby, Burton, south staffs area give us a wave

That's good news, I hope to be as chuffed as you especially as it would seem we have swapped in the same bike

Hi ExTriumphExp. Glad to hear ya loving your new steed too and that you have great taste in acquiring a blue one. ::008:: I did think I'd love the Triumphs, especially the 1050 coming off a TDM900. Been reading up on em and was downloading pidtures of em by the bucket load just to stare at as you do, so it was a massive anti-climax riding the thing. To be honest I wasn't convinced before with the brand even before riding tthem and continuing my honesty thebikes I tried didn't do the 'brand' any favours as far as I was concerned. I left the dealers feeling rather smug and more appreciative with the under rated bike I already owned. That is till the Tenere came along.... ::003::

Welcome Nick. I have had mine for 18 months, I got a good deal on a used one with only 2K on the clock. I have done two 2-up trips to the Alps and going back for a solo run in September. The only niggle has been it missed a re-call for the head lamps loom, but that is being done in a couple of weeks and the air temp guage is a bit wayward. Hardly deal brakers ;)

It's diplaying the temperature from the air box sensor used by the ECU, so not true ambient air temp, unfortunately.
