Hello, I'm Nick and from the wonderful county of Somerset.

Currently I'm riding a Triumph Exp 1200 but went for a test ride on the newest S10 today.

I'm quite impressed and now in a bit of a quandary!

The number of Brits here is directly related to the number of Tenere's in the UK.

There are a lot of folk from the USA, possibly helped by the fact that the Yamaha is considerably less $$$$ than the McBoorman 1200's, and they never knew that Obi Wan rides a GS.

Thanks Rasher, so the S10 is a cheaper bike in the US? Shame it got its price loaded in the UK. The value to go from a fully loaded Explorer on a 62 to the S10 is quite a hike

It Is a lovely bike but I've been to Italy and back on it now and I think it feels a heavier beast than the Yam. As age is keeping into me, not the Tex, I'm starting to want an easier life.

Thank you, going for another rude next week, the only real bug bear at the moment is the saddle which felt like a plank in comparison to the Triumph..

I had both my seats re-worked by Tony Archer, a bit of re-shaping and extra foam - cost about £100 including post both ways ::008::

A mate of mine has the Explorer and is trying to sell his, he tested it back to back with the S10, but when he bought it (December 2012) it was cheaper for a brand new Explorer than an ex-dem Explorer - the main problem with Yamaha's in the UK is the pricing, ridiculous that the Yamaha costs more than the V4 Honda....

.... However you can find deals, most UK owners on here got a great deal, either a straight discount, ex-demo, pre-reg or pre-owned low miler, deals are out there ::008::

Welcome.
Originally from Surrey, now hooning around Northants :)
I changed the seat rubbers to give a flatter angle. It's been fine for me loaded up all around Europe.

Very nice Scuff and with a frame too!

You're right Tyke, there have been a considerable number of fairly major problems and the bike has become as common as a spot on a teenager.
