Have you welded Titanium before I thought you need a nitrogen blanket to weld it thats how they weld it at work.

Many times. I TIG everyday. If your welding exhaust tubes Etc you can back perge it that I do sometimes. But in this case I just need to weld up a quick piece that's not a tube :)

Ok I just never have done anything with Titanium and I've done all kinds of tig welding. I've just seen the the parts that they weld up at work but they are very large parts for the F22 so it's not the same at all.

Would love to see those welds... :p :p Years ago, had a friend that his dad had (I guess) a PhD in Engineering (He had like 5-6 Engineering degrees) and worked for Skunk Works in California.. He showed me some welded parts from the facility and I was in AWE !!! This part im working on is small, just need a little wire... I dont want to order 5lbs of TI.... :D

Well Obama put a stop on the F22 so I'm not sure if I'll find anything but I'll look around. The stuff I seen was unreal, better than anything that I've ever seen. When they are done with the parts just before shipping them they go over ever inch with white cotton gloves.

I'm sure, and an X-Ray...... The guys that TIG weld for companies like Lockheed Martin, Etc are not human... Best I have ever seen... Ive seen I fighter jet wing seam on the leading edge... It was probably 30' long, a continuous bead... With a trained eye, I could never see where the puddle ever started or stopped for more wire..... Again, those dude are Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood... Ive TIG welded for about 12 years or so. People tell me im good, but IMOP the guys that weld on planes are the BEST! I know a few Nuclear power plant welders... they are good too.... :D
