Im not one for "detailing" an adventure bike like some type of show Harley, but I do like to wash off the crud so I don't make a big mess in the shop. To me the most important thing is to clean it up so I can check bolts, nuts, or broken or missing parts. So, I do hand wash the bike, (never use a power washer) Ive read and seen folks using this Maxima SC1 after they clean it to help mud and crap fall off faster and help clean the bike up a bit faster. Anyone have experience with the product...?

I know there are other products, I know there are less expensive products. If you don't wash your bike because its an ADV bike, that's OK by me. Just asking fellow riders if they have used this stuff and if they like it ! Everywhere I read, it gets excellent reviews.

Thank you

It's the #1 selling item on the chemical rack. A lot of off roaders use it because the mud cleans off very easily. I use it to shine everything in the shop, including my glasses. It's not uncommon for a customer to buy 2-3 cans at a time. The only thing I don't use it on is windshields. No particular reason other than I have used Plexus on windshields for years.

I use a similar, but cheaper for me, product; http://www.ctaaustralia.com.au/products.php?p=13953

Maybe once a year I spray most of a can on everything except tyre treads and brakes after washing. I let it soak overnight and then maybe buff a few bits, like the tank and side covers. Makes cleaning later easy, and makes it sparkle until the next dirty encounter. Recommended

I am old school, still the best IMHO.
*However, do not leave it on for more than a couple of minutes with anodized parts.... o_O

I've used the Maxima SC1 and it really does make the bike shine and it makes everything so slick that mud, dirt, and bug guts come off much easier. And it's a dry slick, not greasy or oily at all. I like the stuff.

Yup! Me.
its like Pledge for motorcycle! It gives a nice slick finish to the bike. Don’t last long, but good stuff. I think Maxima a very good line of product.

S100 is a spray on, hose off cleaner. I sell it in the shop along with Bike Brite and Spectro XL-1, which are both spray on hose off cleaners. SC1 is a polish made to use after the bike is dry. Spectro XL-1 wins the spray on hose off contest. Bike Bright is the strongest of the three and must be used with a grain of caution, especially on Black surfaces.

I have tried the SC1 or something similar. I'm more of of a Plexus guy. It's cheap and works great on my face shields as well. I also use Yamaha cleaner and Honda polish.

The SC! is about 13 bucks right now. Might have to try a can if I don't already have it in my cabinet.

For face shield cleaning lemon pledge works pretty well. Does a nice job similar to plexus but at quite a bit less $$.

All this talk makes me realize just how dirty my wind screen is. Haven't touched it yet this year and it's getting crusty.

I have been using SC-1 for about 8 years now and there is nothing better to detail your bike with after it has been cleaned. Street bikes, adventure bikes, and dirt bikes all get this treatment from me after they have been cleaned. And, I do everything except the tires and disks. I have tried at least five other brands that "seem" like they would do the same thing, but the combination of shine and lack of film left behind, puts SC-1 at the top. I buy the stuff by the case of 12 for around $93. and free shipping. (Ebay) For me, it takes around a third to a half can to do a bike. Best $4.50 detail I could ever do!

It was only about 15 bucks or so for a can of it from my local dealer. It's been 10 or 15 years but the price has not went up much. I just checked Amazon and you can get it for 15.67 a can if you buy a case of 6.

Plexus is one of the very best cleaner and polish you can get. My father in law used it exclusively on his Beechcraft Bonanza

That would be for the small 7oz. cans.
