I stopped by my dealer earlier this week and the SM told me there was a recall notice; Apparently replacing a fuel pump seal (awk, awk...you, know ....seal)....bringing in next Saturday at 9:30...service is rated at 7/10s of an hour.

You'all might want to check...I didn't get anything from Yamaha, just dealer saying "Hey, whaddaya know?"

Hey keepon, there is a whole thread on this here. The letter is on the way to those affected.

Got my letter today (11/21)
Yamaha recommends NOT riding the bike until fixed.
Does anyone figure they will cover transport to/from the dealer?

Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Got a very nice Proactive phone call today the local dlr where I have svc done, not the dlr 3 hrs away where I purchased. Anyway bike is in FL for the winter so will contacl dlr there to have svc done on my mid-winter visit. 7546 miles, so far no issues noted. ::022::

THANKS for all the good heads-up for things like this from all you guys/gals on this forum !!!!!

Good riding all. ::001::

Me .. Me ... I got mine. My bike is far, far away so I'll have to deal with it on my way back next summer. If I detect any leakage, I'll stop at Golden, B. C. dealer. If not, I'll bring it on home. It should be fine since I'm in the Yukon where ... we "don't pass gas". R ::012::

I dealer might do it out of goodwill, but no, Yamaha doesn't provide any coverage for expenses associated with getting a bike to a dealer for a recall, nor does any mfg of any vehicle that I'm aware of.

Got the letter today as well. Put with the FJR ground wire recall.

I've had the tank up several times. Ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)

I got my letter yesterday ::007:: along with my $200 cash back check. ::008:: As for the letter, mine is not leaking therefore I won't be taking it in to have it hacked on so it will then leak from now on. I will just file the letter away and if it leaks in the future they will have to honor the recall.

The letter was delivered yesterday. I too am going to call the dealer to arrange to get it taken care of hopefully before the weather turns.

I got a call and the notice in the mail yesterday. The next couple weeks will be a good time for the dealer to handle the fix and then we’ll be back on the road in the beginning of December. :)

...and I got my letter yesterday, two days after dealer fixed it.

Haven't been keeping up with site as much or would have bugged them about it earlier.
