I tried to make this adjustment on my California model XT and appears that it is not possible. Following the directions, I have it off, hold both select buttons in while turning ignition on and continue to hold the buttons for 8 seconds. It then shows diagnostic mode. Next we should be able to press the left select button to toggle to diag or CO mode. Mine does not toggle.

Do the other US bikes have the feature and only us lucky CA model bikes not have it?
Devin,

Just tried it on my 49 state bike....and....it's NOT there. I had a feeling the the EPA would not allow this.

I did find that if after you get into 'diag' mode, if you press both button again you will actually get into the diag mode. YOur initial dispaly should show something like '14 d:01' which according to the non-USA service manual is TPS signal #1. You can press the left button to scroll down and the right button to scroll up thru the different Diag codes. On my bike there are 28 different codes, ending with d:70

The Service Manual tells you what these codes are (assuming they are the same for our USA bikes).

Thanks for checking that Steve. I found the same diagnostic list by holding both buttons once in Diag and scrolled some of them. Decided I better get out before I screwed something up. Is there anything in there of value to us?

Unfortunately, looks like we don't get this adjustment. Oh well.

I would bet there is something to be done which will "enable" the CO mode on the USA bikes. The FJR's had this feature disabled at first, and word gets out eventually:

Might just need some comparing of the US/Aus/Euro wiring diagrams, and somebody brave enough to start rearranging wiring on the ECU plug of their brand new bike... ???

I was told that a ground wire has to be connected to a green lead somewhere. I guess this info is only relayed to dealers verbally because of EPA implications, can someone confirm this?
