Well mine will only be 8 months old on Tuesday. Have had alot of different motorcycles. This is by far my favorite all around. 14000 miles in 8 months, 3000 in last week and a half. Can't get enough.
Today was one of the best riding days I have ever had.
Riding in those parts, EVERYDAY is one of the best riding days ever.

Envious. :)

Mine will be a year on Aug 3. I have about 10K miles, I have done sport bike trips, mountain passes and everything in between. I've had the bike loaded down with full bags and camping gear ridden in rain, slush, mud, etc. The bike has been 100% reliable and all systems work great. Definitely one of the best, if the not the best bike in its class. ::008::

With all this good news about outstanding reliability, I'm loosing my incentive to buy the YES extended warranty. I've got one week to make up my mind. 8)

My Super Tenere will be a year old on August 3rd. As of today it has 19,856 miles on it, and will easily crack 20-K by its birthday...

So how do I like it?

Been riding since 1970, and have literally owned a ton of motorcycles in that time... Bikes from Penton, KTM, ATK, CZ, Husqvarna, Bultaco, Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Aprilia, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Norton, BMW, Ducati, etc., etc., etc.... Many of those brands more than one or five... and other Yamaha's, too...

Simple. This one is the best of 'em all, period. I would gladly buy another one, and probably will when this one wears out, if it ever does! ::26::

I love it. ::008::

Mine has 25,000 kms on it now and about 60 % of that is pavement and the rest is gravel, dirt and mud. Have been ridding every year since 1973 and enjoy this bike a lot. It is the do everything well bike. Its not a trail bike, not a sport touring bike, not a cruiser (the Harley crowd wont think your cool), not a drag bike, not a sport bike, not a trials bike. Its an adventure touring bike with low center of gravity, reasonable range and power, can carry a passenger and camping equipment for both. If you have a little skill you can do all of the above except look cool and do it quite well, the bike is very capable. I am very happy with my purchase so far. The only thing I notice is most people have never heard of a Super Tenere which is strange because of its (the 750 and 800 cc models of the eighties and nineties) huge success in winning the grueling Paris Dakar, 7 years in a row. People talk like this is Yamaha's first attempt at this. I owned the 1990 Super Tenere 750 that was sold in Canada for two years and that bike was also outstanding at doing what it was designed to do. It was that bike that sold me on this one and ordering sight unseen, I felt that if the new one was as good as the old one that it would be a great bike for me and it has not disappointed. I like it, and oh yes, did I mention I like the low low end torque????

Day 1

Day 365

Very pleased with the bike. Has done rain, heat, gravel ,mud, and lots of open highway without problem. 25,600 Km now and very impressed with the bikes performance. Other than the usual fuel, tires and oil changes it just works.
It also is the most Kms I've put on a bike in a year.
Good first year anniversary to a whole bunch of Tenere's out there ::008::
Cool pictures - For the second year, try to get the time of day synced up so the shadows are the same ::012:: ::012::

I think now it is the best bike I have ever owned. I think now after almost 8k miles I wouldn't have bought the saddlebags, not because they are Yamaha, but because my riding barely justifies owning them and the expense. Other than that, it can do as much as my riding abilities could even allow me to do if I had a KTM, a KLR, a WR250R, XR650L and so on!!! It's simply amazing. I only wish there was an option to purchase which would allow me to ride more.

I have owned numerous motorcycles over the years of my life and ridden many, many more. I have had my Super Ten for one month exactly and all I can say is WOW! I put 1,300 miles on it in the first three weeks. It has put the fun back into riding for me. With the versatility this bike has, it was worth the wait to get one. ::018::

Got home this evening from my daily travels, and this is what I saw on my dash panel... Owned it 361 days as of this afternoon. It just gets better and better with each and every mile! ::008::

Like I've said before... Best bike I've ever owned.

Mine will be 1 year old on August 10th and I have about 4000 miles on it. I am very satisfied. I just had it up to the Deals Gap area and was very happy with the handling in the twisties (even fully loaded). One bike that can virtually do it all. What's not to like!?!

I'll jump in on the lovefest...After getting punked by my wonderful wife...(http://bit.ly/PjJDWd), I picked up the Blue Rhino on August 26th. Work keeps me busy, and off the bike, so she only has a bit over 4K miles (and I still have my FJR that needs some love!), but this is easily the most comfortable, easiest to ride bike I have owned. I was already a Yamaha fan from back in the Banshee (ATV) days, so my preference is for their products...ordering sight unseen was easy. I ordered it in October 2010, sat on one in Long Beach in December, and finally got a demo ride in April 2011. I'd buy another one if I wore this one out, or something happened to it.

LOL, God isn't that the truth. Everytime I ride the S10 I dream of just not stopping and following the trail to nowhere. More time to ride would be the ultimate "farkle"!

Just got back from the Yukon rally 20,000 km in 6 weeks 27,000 in one year and the only problems are the leaking fork seal and the seat sucks. Love this bike.

I brought my Tenere home a year ago yesterday. It needs new rubber now. Between chipstone road surfaces and heavy throttle, the BWs are done. That's OK, new tires are waiting to be fitted.
I am a very satisfied Tenere owner. When I first got it, I honestly couldn't tell much, if any difference, between Sport and Tour modes. Now I can, so it must be breaking in. I don't ride as much as many do; I don't commute (company supplied vehicle and prohibition on riding motorcycles to jobs) so I tend to do longish local/day rides. I like it more now that at first, and liked it a lot then. Except for that throbby section from about 3200-3800 RPM. It still has that, but nowhere near what it had at first. It has matured into a much smoother engine.

What made me decide on it over the other contenders (FJR and Sprint GT) is the versatility. Part of the decision was the ability to comfortably carry my wife with me. There are lots of bikes that are fine with just the rider, but not too many that are both versatile and comfortable for two. It was a very wise decision. I find the Super Tenere to exactly what I first thought it to Be: a giant Yamaha Enduro model. After a year's ownership, I feel that is the correct description. I doubt I'll purchase anything else to take its place in the large displacement long distance category. I think it is a fabulous bike, and if more tried it, more would buy one. It really is around the block or around the world, on road or off.

I would however, still buy the "Mini-Me" XTZ500 that I've mentioned elsewhere on this site. It would be much better for those times when I want to do gnarly off road stuff. maybe we'll see one, and I can get my outstanding Super Tenere a little brother.

All in all, a much better bike than I originally thought, and it continues to impress.
