I just put on the Madstad today. The quality and fit is very good. It got too late and too cold for a test ride by the time I got done, but maybe tomorrow I can get out for a few miles.
That’s pretty much why I chose the biggest VStream made , I think it’s as wide or wider than anything else out there, so far I’ve only put about 1,000 miles on with it but It seems to be a major improvement for me.Checkswrecks said:The reason I liked the Parabellum on my Gen1 bike was that it is wider.
I’d like to try your mod. When you say cut the centre trim piece… Do you mean the accessory bar? Would you have any pictures?@Bombadier36 -What Gen bike?I noticed in your sig like you have a Gen II. In terms of buffeting, I found moving the screen closer to me on my Gen II vastly improved things and I didn't need as tall a screen to eliminate buffeting. (I removed the screen adjuster bracket completely and mounted the screen like a Gen I. You need to replace a center trim piece, or cut it, for clearance.) I was running a Med CalSci, but I like some air flow too.
Now, a smooth air pocket could be considered very little wind too. In that case the larger Parabellum or V-stream, CalSci Tall, etc will get you there. The side wings do help, especially with rain.
Torso height is a factor as well. I'm 5' 11" with a 30-31" inseam,, so slightly tall torso'd.
No, the accessory bar will come off with the factory adjuster bracket. The black plastic V shaped piece with the tuning fork emblem on it that sits on the nose will usually hit the windscreen if you mount it like a Gen I. The Gen I part is ~$5 and fits exactly the same, it's just shaped differently. If you want to try, just remove that trim piece and leave it off. If you like the change, order the Gen I part or trim the Gen II part to allow fit of your screen. The Gen I part is COVER, METER 23P-83559-00-00. #18 on this Diagram.I’d like to try your mod. Thanks
Which one did you order?Ordered and installed the windscreen spoiler. Happy to report the success. It works great so far (short test). I have a long trip scheduled for next month (2000-3000 miles) and it will be put to the test.
Thanks for the help!
