I'll post some pics as the new parts arrive and then as they go on the bike. Not sure yet as to when the bike will get here. Any questions - just ask.
Thanks to this forum as a great resource for information and finding suppliers.

Here's the first to arrive: a skid plate from T-Rex Racing. Weighs about 8 pounds. Very well made. I hope it fits as well as it looks.

Getting the feed before the live stock, good luck from what I'm hearing Yamaha like all others are having supply issues on a lot of their new units.
I'm hearing some people that ordered last year still waiting.
You say a 2021, I taking for granted its a new out of the dealer unit.

Yes, the bike is new. I called a number of dealers. They can not order ST's from Yamaha. There were only two remaining within 700 miles of Minneapolis.

I would consider the sound deading pads in the TREX skidplate. I drilled some air holes in mine but I am here in Arizona

Holding the skid plate in the air and giving it a wack....yes it does ring like a bell. Good suggestion, I'll apply some constrained-layer damping material. Not sure about the holes though.

Have the same T-Rex plate on mine, no issues so far but I do wonder what kind of mess there might be when changing the oil filter.

If you can - install the tech spec pads when it’s warm. 70f +. They stick better.

I went and added the sound deading mat to my t-rex as well i left a few inches strip on right side uncovered due to concerns of it being that close to the exhaust have you had any issues with it there?
