I've never had an OEM tire that was bad enough to pull off before it was worn out - although I have if only one of the pair was gone. Then I would replace them as a pair.

Quite anxious to see what tire we get State-side!!

Did i hear someone say they wanted my stock tires off of the bike? Are we talking a reduced purchase or a give-away??? The old stock Bridgestones from My DL1000 could be pushed as hard as I could crank it on the STrom with no effects. I just had to manage everything at that moment on how it felt.
My shinko's I could push just as hard, no bad things happened. I hear the TKC's can be pushed as hard as a stock tire. I am really wanting the "look" of the knobby on this bike!!! My local driving will do just fine with whatever I decide to go with for tires.

Tire and oil threads seem to go on for ever.... ;D. I'm not going to be doing any extreme off roading and most of my time will be on the pavement getting to where I want to go. Good news to hear that some of the S-10's are being fitted with the Tourance.
I'm guessing that on our side of the pond, we will see the BattleWings. I've ran the Tourances before and liked them. Also the TrailWings, but was never real impressed. Never had the BattleWing though.
I've found the Battle Wings to feel "loose" and not to corner well. Did not inspire me to charge hard into a tight curve. I also need a tire that works well in wet conditions. Couple the loose feeling Battle Wing with a slick road and I can see how the came to be called "Death Wings".
The TrailWings were nicknamed "DeathWings". The BattleWing is a completely different tire. I run the twisty stuff pretty well when I get up into the NC mountains and I like them. They work good in the wet, too. Living in Florida means you're going to ride on wet roads-a lot.

I run mine at 39 front and 41 rear. With a heavy touring load, I go up a couple of pounds on each.
What ever they are called....the Battle Wings sucked on my GS. I couldn't wait to change them out. I'm very precise about checking and maintaining tire pressures and suspension settings. I can only speak to the GS and not how they work with other bikes and/or set ups.

If Hiedenau comes through with the right size in the K60, Ill be using them. Ive been through 2 sets on my 800 already and they are the perfect tire for my style of riding the big trailies.

I've got a set of TKC 80's on my DR 650. A nice tire for that bike. Decent enough performance on tarmac. I hit the corners pretty hard on my Strom, so prefer a little more in the way of a contact patch for aggressive street riding (and braking). If you're not going to be hammering the corners, the TKC's should do just fine.
