Question ac, I read in earlier posts that with a stock ECU in CJM mode the timing in WOT @5000+ rpm is advanced 20+ deg. Just wondering if you address this with your CJM mapping or does it strictly map throttle settings. Thanks, Lango

Of course I reign that timing in to reasonable numbers.

The only "limitation" to the CJM modes is that timing is limited to 1 map, and cannot be gear-based. However, this is how Flash Tune does their "91+" tune anyways. They use 1 map for all gears.

Forgive me if it is somewhere in this thread and I missed it, but whats the turn around time on the flash? I'm interested in doing it but I commute on my bike so don't want to spend too much time without it...

I need the ECU for 1 evening. I flash the day it arrives and it goes out the next USPS business day. The rest is up to shipping.

Generally speaking, we use USPS Priority 2-3 day. That is what is included in the $125 price.

Yet ANOTHER shipping update:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Do NOT use Fedex with "Direct Signature Required". This means that Fedex will NOT leave the package for me unless I am home.

Unfortunately, flashing ECUs doesn't put enough cash in my stash to keep me home all day and I do have to go to a "real" job when Fedex tries to deliver.

If I can't GET your ECU, I can't flash it...

I'm not sure if this question has been asked already , but what about the gas mileage after the reflash ? Up, down or stays pretty much the same ?

As far as I can tell, should stay the same. I don't do fueling adjustments as I don't have a dyno and don't want to get involved with lean conditions or variations in fuel quality I cannot control from afar. Any changes to MPG will be a factor of your right wrist.

I have to agree. The bike seems to rev much more willingly and is certainly going to cut into my mileage if only because it's now so much fun to play with the throttle.

Regarding the gas mileage, I haven't noticed a difference. I am still between 40 and 43 MPG. I am more worried about the rear tire... ::025::

Thanks for the answers on the gas mileage . Good to know that it's not dropping with the re-flash . It's kind of like , have your cake and eat it too , performance and mileage ...

There is some evidence it causes additional brake pad wear.
Less compression braking increases the possibility of more braking or you might become a better rider through the corners.

How many days to get to AC from Northern California? Is 5 days (2 + 1 + 2) total reasonable? I can mail at the main post office when it opens.

You don't HAVE to have less compression braking...totally an option up to the rider.

If USPS holds their end of the bargain, yes.

I receive your ECU, flash that evening, it goes back in the mail the next "mail day".

I shipped an ECU to CA last week. It arrived Friday, I put it in my mailbox outgoing Saturday, the owner had it Monday.

An important thing to note: Signatures can really throw a loop in this. I have an agreement with USPS to deliver my packages to a safe location at my house with no signature. When I send the ECU back, Signature WILL BE REQUIRED. $900 insurance mandates this. You need to have arrangements in place (usually a note with the tracking number suffices).

So I got ECU flash from AC I sent him ecu and got it back within one week ( you can't beat that speed) and so far I put around 400 miles and I gotta to say that I love it. The T mode is pretty much like S mode before it was flashed just better and best part I still get 41mpg cruising 80-85mph on the freeway, S mode ( I like it the most) it's super responsive and almost snappy throttle also seems like power points are way better then stock now here is the best one the 2S or as I call it SS (super stupid) mode with is basically your clutch switch mode this mode will get you into a lot of trouble that would be mainly wheelies and drifting when TRC is off. Anyways as of right now I can't think of any negative things about this flash AC did very good job and I can only wish that there was more people like this out there to do business with. I highly recommend this flash you can't beat the price and customer service. AC I still owe you a beer next time I'm in NJ ::003::
