The check engine light comes on if the rear wheel is spun for while during which the front is not. That explains why the light comes on. Here in the USA, the light goes off as soon as the motorcycle is ridden, but I understand that is not the case on European Super Tenere, which needs the Yamaha special scanner only available to dealers. No obd2 reader or scanner works on the Super Tenere in the USA, I've tried. The scanners all say "vehical does not match any OBD2 protocol".
I hope in Europe the scanner is able to sync up.
