Hi,

If you are talking about custom exhasut collectors, we already had the case with one customer and they were making contact with our ACD Super Tenere Skid Plate design. He had to cut a little bit the ACD XT1200Z Skid plate for it to fit perfectly.

Please excuse the shouting but I looked, researched, pondered and procrastinated two years on a skid plate. Wanted something with good coverage, hefty but not too much, mounting to the frame at the rear and not too much money.

This plate excels in every category and it is so well built.

If you do not have a plate yet, buy this one.
If you have one, switch.



I have no connection to these guys except for being a customer whose every expectation was exceeded.

I am using Givi crash bars and it was an easy fit up, no conflicts. have changed the oil and removal reinstall was a piece of cake

Hi, I purchased one of your skid plates about a year ago for my 2013 Super Tenere. After receiving the skid plate I decided to upgrade to a 2014 Super Tenere. I had read that the 2013 skid plate would not bolt up onto the 2014, so my skid plate has never been installed.

What changed with your skid plate to accommodate the 2014?

Is it possible to retrofit that change onto the earlier skid plate so I don't have to try to sell the one I have and purchase another?

Hi Nick,

The change between the 2013 and the 2014 models is the integration of a catalytic converter to the exhaust line. So the exhaust line is 15 mm lower for the 2014 model. Due to that modification we had to make 18 mm higher rear clips and let just 2mm between the skid plate and the exhauste line. This is a pitty from Yamaha though it reduces somehow the off-road capabilities.

Have you yet sold your 2013 bike? Maybe you should sell it with the skid plate on.

Anyway let me chack with the factory if there is a way to adapt the former skid plate to the new Super Tenere.

Yes, I already sold my 2013 and I offered to include it with the purchase free of charge, but they thought it would be overkill for their purposes and they didn't want to ship it to their home. It is probably overkill for my purposes as I don't do much in the way of off road other than dirt roads, but I like the way your skid plate protects the sides of the engine as well as the underside.

Ok Nick,

I should have an answer from the factory by tomorrow regarding the clip. I think the angle of the plate is a bit different but almost nothing.

I am trying to order a black plate for my 2014 ES and when I get to the billing & account details page, I cannot seem to be able to enter USA for country or Illinois for state. There are arrows for drop downs for these, but when I select those, nothing shows up in the box, neither will it let me enter that manually.

You are right there was a bug under Chrome, country and state were written with white on white background !! It is now white on grey and fully readable.
