Sorry if this has been asked before, but can I fit you r skid plate to my bike which has OEM engine bars. The bars which come up under the headlights and allow fitting of the OEM spot/fog light.

Note to future buyers:


There are multiple threads about installing this skid plate and it is rugged, in part because it bolts to the frame. This is a good one for reference:

However in those threads, people write that they replaced the front engine mount bolts with studs.

It's extremely easy to cross thread the engine mount bolts if you haven't swapped to using studs. With the studs, you can hang the front of the plate and then lift the back to put in the rear bolts. This doesn't sound like much but in addition to supporting the plate one-handed while trying to put in a bolt with the other hand, my new plate doesn't line up perfectly without a bit of pressure. Plus, you need to drop the pan to change the oil, so this is not a one-time problem.


The m12x1.25x40 (or 57mm) studs are fine pitch and I have not found them in any auto parts stores (even special order at NAPA). While the hardware which comes with the plate does work, the message is that if you want them, order the studs and nuts before-hand.
