I've found this option from Diapason Racing from Italy.
They added a 10 litres tank under the seat, i find it a great idea ::012::

Once again a slick looking bike from these guys.. ::008:: My rear tire has gone past that tank.. I would hate to damage it back under there...

Many months ago when we were discussing and doing gas tanks the area under the seat had a small mention. I liked the idea but could not get a measurement of the rear wheel travel or what is the maximum height / compression of the rear tire. Does anyone know?

I want one of those tanks!! ::012::

It would be great for road use round the north of Scotland - few petrol stations, and limited opening hours. This would be the biz ::014::

Weren't you one of the guys that changed your shock spring? That's always a good time to measure wheel travel. Hook your shock up without the spring and you can see how far it travels.

I don't think it would be difficult to have some protection, in fact it looks as it has something...

If you look underneath above the hugger, the aluminum plate is actually curved upwards.
I think its no lower than what's on a stock bikes undertail...

Ahh yes, the remote north of Scotland - very difficult to find fuel on a long ride.

With a 20litre auxiliary tank ??? on mine already it can be hard to find fuel down under.

I had a quick look on the Diapason website but couldn't find products for the 1200, only the 660.

I wonder how they get the fuel from this tank to the main tank for the FI fuel pump? Another pump transfering to the main?

Well, now. That little graphic sure helped me comprehend the size of OZ. Guess I never realized the enormity of the place. Sure wish I had the wherewithal to go on some two-wheeled adventures there...

Rear footpeg mounts are nice, would mind a set of those

They don't look hard to make.

I think I like that fork protection better then the worldcrosser, it looks clean and simple.
What skid plate is that?

Don't get jealous since OZ is about the size of the continental US. Throw in the Great White North of Canada and Alaska, oh and don't forget Mexico. That should keep you busy looking for places to top off. 8)
