What is everyone using to plan fuel stops on long trips? Any good apps?

On the 2014+ what is the best way to wire up a light bar so it is always on even with the high beams on? I assume one way would be to wire it to the battery then add an on/off switch, but was hoping for it to come on when the engine is on and off when the engine is off like the headlights.
