2017 ES | 5000mile Service | The ACD Plate workaround

I like not spending $700 on a skidplate :) I have a lift. Clamp the front wheel, drop the plate and go. The bolts aren't really the issue, it's needing a ratchet strap to line it back up again. Even from the first time mounting, the plate didn't line up right.

    Tenere seat recommendations

It's better than nothing, but I don't think they really add much comfort. The same pressure points are still there, you just have a sponge that soaks up the rain. I have one I've switched between various dirt bikes, my Tenere, and a KTM Adventure. I've actually put it on the passenger seat now...

EXHAUST: searching for a QUIET-throaty sounding slip-on muffler for under $600

made a crappy cell phone video. Seems pretty loud, but it's probably just how close the phone is. Again, for $40ish dollars, can't complain.

EXHAUST: searching for a QUIET-throaty sounding slip-on muffler for under $600

Perhaps to save the signal, but with the db killer in it's not very loud.

    Givi Trekker Outback side cases

Not an issue for a passenger, other than being a bit more awkward to mount and dismount the bike.

EXHAUST: searching for a QUIET-throaty sounding slip-on muffler for under $600

I've wondered that myself, but I think the only thing you're going to see is a filthy exhaust. The new can: It comes with springs to mount it, but I slotted the inlet pipe to get it to slip over the midpipe and used the other clamp.

EXHAUST: searching for a QUIET-throaty sounding slip-on muffler for under $600

Last weekend I mounted up my 'Akrapovic' carbon can. It's shorter than the Delkevic, even, and has the DB killer insert. Fired it up today and it sounds pretty good with the db killer in - probably too loud with it out. Will it hold up? Not sure. it was a $40 Wish order lol. Fit and Finish...

    Sargent Seat

    I'll give it a shot.

    Tenere seat recommendations

Quite reasonable if you can manage the waiting period. As wide as it is, I'm curious how well it would work with a passenger, though.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back? Looks nice.

    Cogent rear shock input

I got a Cogent shock last August. I debated the remote preload and decided against it for money reasons. talked with rick for 20 minutes about various options etc and I think he said it can be done later if you decide you want it. then talked to his guy that builds them - very specific...

    Purchasing Aluminium Cases from Europe

I quoted the tariff code and wording to them and was still told that if I disputed it, it would get reclassified and charged more. no doubt they were betting I wouldn't want to deal with the headache of it all. they were right. but I damn sure made em wait months til it was almost in collections lol

    Purchasing Aluminium Cases from Europe

little late to the party but I got charged duty when I ordered from Italy. they put the wrong product code (was written as tractor parts) but FedEx claims if it was written as motorcycle luggage I would have been charged more. that goes against everything I read but it wasn't worth fighting forb $27

    Akrapovic or Remus?

If you want such a quiet bike you should probably be riding a Zero and driving a Prius :)) I don't like obnoxious, but I like to hear my vehicles run. Plus it covers up some of that annoying engine noise :D I got a new truck a couple weeks ago, one of the first mods was to yoink the stock...

    YES WARRANTY Purchase, renewal, questions

My dealer was supposed to send me information about the extended warranty before it expires. They didn't, and I was thinking I bought the bike in sept so I could wait til after vacation . I plugged my vin into the D&H site and it said nothing available. Am I screwed because my 1 year warranty...

    Loose Cluster

My vibration issue (or whatever the noise is) is at 34mph. The engine can be off and it still does it. Tough to pinpoint but i thought it odd the cluster was so loose and I never noticed it while riding.

    Loose Cluster

In my search for what sounds like an odd vibration at 34mph, I today noticed the instrument cluster moves quite a bit. The 3 screws are tight, but the rubber bushing is physically moving in the mounting holes as if the bushings are worn out (5k miles) or the holes are just too big. Anyone else...

    drive shaft

Spokes are all present, and reasonably close in tension and the wheels are pretty true. I'll pull the hub tomorrow and have close look at the ujoints. First night back at work after 2 weeks off for rotator cuff problems - just don't have it in me today lol

    drive shaft

pulled back the boot while I had it on the lift looking everything over - Can't imagine it would be the ujoints or anything. Still I might grease the splines in the next day or two, loosen things up and make sure it's all aligned again . Rally next week, so she's gonna see some miles regardless...
