    Bike won't start code 19

I don't remember ever seeing the check engine light come on after boot up when starting the engine.

    Bike won't start code 19

Here is my latest on the code 19 problem. I watched some videos and read many comments here and decided to try and fiddle with the ignition switch. I was shocked by the path its loom takes to get to the plug in the electrical panel. I'm sure that Yamaha didn't want this loom to move, but it...

    Bike won't start code 19

So where are these two switches located? I'm assuming one is at the lever?

    Battery chargers

I am having a code 19 issue that is NOT the side stand. I've been checking many issues and still continue to do so. One of my riding buddies suggested a shot alternator. I was also looking at changing over to a Lithium battery. One thing led to another. So while I was looking at other...

    Battery chargers

Thank you. This is good information. I had considered Lithium, but this bike is so electrically fickle, that I am staying with the AGM for now.

    Battery chargers

Does the Scorpion Li battery not require a regulator designed to charge it? I have read that if you use a Lithium battery, the regulator has to be changed out for one that will correctly charge that battery.

    Bike won't start code 19

I'm having this problem too. Isolated the side stand and replaced battery. Still gets code if I leave it off charge a few days. Voltage at 12.8 and I get code. Bike runs great when it starts, so I don't believe that it's the ECU. But engine will suddenly stop running, and so I am suspecting a...

    Exhaust popping

I see you have a 12 too. I just went through all this, end of 4th page. http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=17952.msg283467#msg283467 Yamaha deduced my intake was clogged up with carbon caused by the ethanol in the fuel. They have some you-tube videos about Ring Free. Yamaha...

    HARD START

Re: Very hard starting today I read the very first post and skipped to the last. The trouble you described in your first post happened to me last December 2015. Replacing the wiring harness solved the starting and stalling issues.

    Hard starting and other problems

I promised Milageman that I would post all the things that Yamaha did to my bike to finally solve my problems. To say the least, there was more than one thing wrong. I expect that most of you probably have had more than one thing wrong. The largest problem I started with was finding a Yamaha...

    Hard starting and other problems

The latest in this saga is the factory has authorized the dealer to continue searching on Yamaha's dime, of which I am glad. This mechanic is determined to fix this bike. I sent him this forum and the pictures. He says it is reasonable that this might be the real problem. But what nobody...

    Hard starting and other problems

Well, trying to figure out which one of these forums to vent MY issues on this problem is cornfoosing. I posted the last work here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=2895.60 Then one day it wouldn't start. So I charged the battery. Even with the trickle charger plugged in, the...

    Throttle Body out of sync?

I agree about checking the vac line/cap. This bike is a bit over my ability to repair with all the electronics. When I read about removing and replacing the Throttle sensors I decided that this was something better done by the dealer. As it turns out, my throttle bodies were 25% out of sync...

No idle and high idle problem

Re: No idle and high idle ?? I just had my 2012 S10 in the shop for these exact problems. Yamaha has a whole list of stuff that has been tried, but the sad fact is, they don't know what causes the problem. Until somebody gets seriously hurt or the problem becomes wide spread, they won't spend...

No idle and high idle problem

Re: Idle speed problem min 800 max 3500 Just got my bike back from the shop. My throttle bodies were 25% out of sync. The valves were just a tad out, but had them adjusted. Had them replace the plugs while in there. And they ran PowerFoam through the engine to clean the sensors. So far, it...

Hard start fix coming from Yamaha

I just stumbled upon this topic. It has been over a year since the original post. What was the outcome? Did the Yamaha ECU remap ever happen? I have a 2012 and experienced hard starts intermittently for the last year. I have had some other fuel mapping issues that cause the bike to surge...

Disabled Placard Vehicle Parked in Motorcycle Only Parking Spot California

In my business I have to deal with ADA all the time. As with all governmental regulations, sheet flows downhill. The flow of regulation is Federal to State to locality (city, etc.). The way the ADA law is ticketed (in Texas) is by trained civilians, usually those that have some kind of...

    Continental TKC 70

I just mounted a pair. I expect a bit more mileage than most because I'm an easy rider. But will be interested to see what happens. I'm hoping that they wear evenly. Also, I am trying counter-balance beads to balance the tires. During the first 3 miles the bike vibrated a bit while the...

the "other" Heidendau - the K76

I completely agree. No one tire does it all. I prefer shorter mileage to sliding around in the wet. I considered the 76 and the 60, but just couldn't stomach the slick. I just mounted a pair of TKC-70's. They were a tough mount. I used some of those words. I have a lot of sand gravel...

No idle and high idle problem

Re: Idle speed problem min 800 max 3500 Mine seems to be affected by cold damp. Yesterday, the humidity went away. The bike started normally this morning and operated normally on a 20 mile ride. One of my buddies suggested that I try a quality Conductive lubricant on the electrical...
