Delayed Delivery Letter and Order Date

I got my letter today too. The most interesting part of it was that Yamaha spent $4.95 to send it to me Priority Mail from LA. It got here in 2 days. A regular stamp would have done the same thing for a whole lot less money.

Super Tenere Demo Ride April 1&2, USA bike.

It's hard to believe an engine with a compression ratio of 11:1 would require 91 octane. O:-)

Thanks, guys! I thought I would post something since most of you are not able to ride much due to one thing or another. Sometimes it's just good to look at some photo's. Around here lately it has been the rain. There is so much water that the dirt is mud and who really likes to do long street...

    Off Topic Report

Hi Guys, Sorry there's no XT1200Z info or pictures here, but I thought I would create a bit of a thread with some photo's that we have taken over the last few months of riding - and a few other things. I hope you will enjoy! This ride was from the San Jose area to Coalinga and back. A simple...

    Yammy FZ1?

A bike like a FZ1 isn't really ideal for a road like the Tail of the Dragon. We have several roads around here like the dragon - you're right, a small motard can do well on the super tight slowish stuff. An FZ1 will do a respectable job on the Dragon though. It'll also do much faster roads where...

    Knock sensor or lack thereof

I'm wondering if the D mode switch would be helpful if you had to run low octane fuel. I'm not really sure what-all is changed between the setting on the switch but I'll guess that ignition timing is backed off along with a host of other things. So, if you experience detonation due to a bad tank...

    delivery dates

The FJR does have really good brakes. I find it a bit troubling that the S10 does not seem to stop as well as that bike. Maybe, since this is the internet, we should start a new thread... Bad Brakes on the S10!!!

Help required please with exhaust info

NO flame here - I completely agree. There are no real advantages to adding an after market pipe. None of our bikes have them.

    XT1200Z Engine Comments

You are probably right. It would be fun to see an after market turbo for this bike, but that kind of stuff is not for me. I'd smile when I saw it though.

    XT1200Z Chassis Comments

If you're a dirt rider you probably know that some bikes seem to get you into a lot of trouble while others don't as much. On top of that some bikes seem to recover well from things. I'm wondering if the S10 is one of those bikes. :)

    XT1200Z Chassis Comments

I raised the forks on my DL1000 the 10 or 15 mm's. I did it to help me touch the ground better though. I never really noticed much of a difference handling-wise, or in cross-winds like some people mention. A much better modification for that bike was the upgrade to stiffer fork springs and fresh...
