3400 mile trip out west (US) - May 2023

My brother put together this fun video from our trip in May. He is on a Kawasaki Voyager and I am riding my 2015 ES

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

Thanks for the offer, but I am southwest MO - though I used to live in St Louis in my younger days. I actually bought my S10 not far outside StL at a home near hwy 44 :) Rode her back home 3hrs in 100 degree July Missouri heat, whilst running a fever with what turned out to be Covid. That was a...

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

What did you find was the easiest method to remove the rear shock? I obviously don't want to get into the hydraulic system, so want take it out as a unit. Pretty much do all my own work on vehicles and, over the years, come to understand the first time I do something I will typically do it in...

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

Thanks for that link. I think I had started that thread some time ago and go completely turned around. It looks like Racetech does offer a drop in (6022) spring, but many prefer the spacer method. Either way, I think I have a direction to go.

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

That may be one option, except I am 5'10 with a 30/31 inseam. :)

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

Racetech actually has a nice calculator telling you everything you would need for your style of riding and body weight, but I think it is currently set up for the standard 1200 and not the ES model. I sent them an email. We'll see what comes back! If there is anything useful I'll definitely post...

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

Thanks for the info! Are the spring and spacer off the Eibach shelf? When I search their site I only get hits for fork springs. *EDIT* I was on the setting for Fork Springs! :) I'm guessing I'd just reach out and ask for their guidance then?

2015 ES rear spring - are there any drop in replacements?

I've read what I can on here over the course of time and am not really finding a straight answer on this one. I am 225lb and it is obvious (to me) the OEM spring is a little soft for those with my particular gravitational challenges. Does anyone make a direct drop in replacement spring for the...

does anyone have a pic of a super tenere and africa twin side by side?

I don't remember why we parked like this. I think there were some bookend vehicles so we just filled in equally. This place is way out it the country in southwest Missouri. We weren't hindering anyone's ability to park :) Oh I remember - my GS buddy told us we can't part too close! LOL

does anyone have a pic of a super tenere and africa twin side by side?

Not quite side by side, but here's my S10 (left, 2015 ES) with a GS1250 and AfricaTwin

    WTB: Muffler cover/heat shield

Put an aftermarket exhaust on my 2015 and the pannier frame is pushing the OEM cover into the new exhaust. Would anyone have an old OEM one lying around they’d send me for a nominal fee? I am only finding one aftermarket short option for $100 and an OEM for about half that. My plan is cut an OEM...

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

I do like the SW Motech switch you sent earlier. Much nicer than the rigid switch.

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

I think you said this from the get-go, but the EB complete harness may be overkill for this application due to the low draw of these lights, correct? I still may get the full thing for future applications, but in the event I don’t the larger EB, I can probably get the Simple Aux cable (middle...

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

It says it is not a switch relay, but an isolation relay (built in?) that isolates the power but does not switch the power. Not sure I get it, but It is what Rigid makes for their product, so my assumption is it is correct and tested as such. I am looking at their other harnesses now to see what...

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

Appreciate it brother! Love this forum. I think I know how my buddy had it wired in, which seems to make sense to me. It came with a wiring harness like this...

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

Ok, so their included relay only powers the two switched plugs when the bike sends power to that aux port, which is with the turn of the key? I was under the impression it allowed me add a switch for those switched outlets. Seems like this is more complicated than in should be. If I want aux...

Eastern Beaver Aux solution and aux switching for added lights?

Appreciate the input, folks! Looking again at the 3HD from EB — it has the switch relay receptacle, so would there be a switch with the male side of the relay that I could plug in there and would be used to switch? Curious what that is for.
