2015 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 ES, 31,000 miles

Ridiculously nice big adventure touring bike from Yamaha. This one is smooth, fast, good on gas (big tank) and rock solid reliable. It is incredibly comfortable with the electronic suspension and is set up for the long-haul. Want to take her offroad – quickly remove the bags, adjust suspension to your preference and hit the trail. She really is the most reliable and capable ADV available. I think I’m going back to a vtwin, so beauty must go. Comes with many nice extras. This bike needs absolutely nothing but gas.

NADA has it at $9700, KBB at $9100. Let’s start at 9400 obo.

Power/Performance
  • Anthony’s ECU flash (Supertenere forum favorite) – this is a MUST if you own this bike. Removes jerky fuel cut and adds a few ponies (probably closing in on 115-118hp). The bike is fast – especially in sport mode
  • K&N air cleaner
  • Two ride modes – Touring and Sport
  • Extra cigarette lighter outlet
  • Pig tail for trickle charger
  • 6.1 gallon tank
Steering/Handling/Ride
  • Rox Risers bring the bars up and back for max comfort. They can be adjusted or removed altogether
  • Grip Puppies
  • Heated grips – works like a charm. Different levels of heat. I stayed warm in the sleet in Colorado last year and a big part of it was these bad boys
  • Rigid LED Aux lights w/ thumb switch on bars
  • Eastern Beaver aux harness
  • Metzler Tourance tires – set has less than 5000 on them
  • TPMS system
  • Comes with extra set of EBC front brake pads
  • Winglets for wind protection around the middle
  • Stock windscreen with extension – can be adjusted or removed
  • ABS with selectable levels of traction control. All brake fluid flushed/filled less than a year ago
  • Electronic Suspension has many different settings. Start with pre-load adjustment while off the bike (one up, one up with luggage, two up, two up with luggage…a few in between), then you can adjust the rebound on the fly on your left hand- Soft, Standard, Hard and three different levels in each setting
  • Highway pegs on the Givi engine guards
  • Rim Super Tenere decals – trust me, these make you go fast! :)
  • Center stand
Crash protection
  • Givi skid plate
  • Givi engine guards
Luggage
  • Givi Outback Trekker lockable hard panniers. Larger capacity on the right with slimmer on the left. These are the bee’s knees. Very easy to remove/put on and hold a lot and keep it dry. I can remove stickers if needed.
  • Yamaha removable top box – This is actually a silver box I plastidipped black just to match. I only use it for long hauls or by itself for short rides when I need a little storage. Lockable and easy to add/remove
  • Nelson Riggs Trails End Tank bag
