LOL. Just seen this thread. I have a new, single genuine Yamaha (PIAA) spotlamp and all the fittings and wiring if anyone else is looking.

Never checked it, just removed it and fitted the manual tensioner... I'm aware of the risks of over tightenting.

It's done 22k miles now and the noise started at about 20k and has got progressively worse. The Yamaha mechanics agree that it is well beyond the normal S10 engine noises, but say it's not the clutch or CCT and Yamaha wont allow them to do any more work. I have to basically wait until it goes...

Both Bike and Ride magazines have been very favourable of the S10 over the last year.

Hi there Sully, Welcome. Had a fab long weekend of riding up in the Scottish borders last weekend. One of the best few days riding I have ever had - simply amazing roads and scenery, with no traffic!

Noise on mine is getting worse and is really 'clacky' at tickover, regardless of how long bike has been running. You can hear it anytime you are on a neutral throttle when moving. But disappeats when on or off the gas. Going back to the dealers today to see what they think. I've been talking...

My 20k miles '14 plate ZE sounds like a bag of spanners. Local Yamaha dealer had a listen and said they are noisy engines, but nothing to worry about. I do worry though...

About 56-58mpg riding briskly and 62-64mpg taking it steady. Bike has had the ECU remapped and this has added 10mpg over OEM.
