Hi everybody I thought it right to introduce myself onto the forum. This is my first adventure bike purchase and I have to say I am looking forward to getting my backside in the seat. I'm located in the beautiful Scottish Borders and have been a lifelong biker with plenty of Yamaha's as past bikes such as 350LC YPVS, FZR400RR YZF750R also Aprilia RSV Mille's, Triumph Daytona and lastly a BMWS1000RR (awesome machine and so easy to ride). so as you can read plenty of quality sports bikes!!! but.... alas old injuries (hip and knees) and turning 50 this year have finally caught up with me and I thought rather than give up completely its time for some more comfortable and different, alas yesterday I purchased a mint 2013 XT1200 Super Tenere in Matt Grey complete with Givi Luggage. The aim is to modify it sympathetically with some world crosser bits along with some other suitable adventure riding parts and do some UK/European long riding. The RSV/S1000RR community forums were great for hint/tips and social ride outs and I am hoping this community will be the same.

Welcome Sully, am also an ex RSV owner, and have a grey 2013 Super Tenere.

Was in Scotland for a week last month, stayed in Dumfries on the way up, then stayed in Fort Augustus for 6 nights. Your roads up there are brilliant ::008::

Loads of great info and knowledge on here.

Hi there Sully,

Welcome.

Had a fab long weekend of riding up in the Scottish borders last weekend. One of the best few days riding I have ever had - simply amazing roads and scenery, with no traffic!

Thanks for the welcome.

As for the Scottish Borders, yes we are blessed with some lovely roads with little traffic.....but hey don't tell anyone as we want to keep it that way!!!

If anyone is interested this is always great ride out with hundreds of bikes, the police are really chilled and the atmosphere is good in my experience. Its a different route each year and raises a good sum for charity.
