Anyone had experience with Excel rims?

Thanks guys, tyres are new Michelin Pilot Trail 5's, rotors are EBC Contours new at the beginning of the year. Pads are EBC Sintered HH. I am going to check the brake disc bobbins, possible that crap as got in there as I do ride all weathers. Its definitely got worse over the last month or so...

Anyone had experience with Excel rims?

Well I was the one at fault really as I was filtering aggressively. Plus the money i'd pay extra in premiums for all my bikes would increase should I make a claim. Anyway, thanks for the input guys. I will conduct some further testing before splashing out on a rim, although i'm pretty sure I'll...

Anyone had experience with Excel rims?

It was only a light crash, so no insurance was involved. It is possible that the hub is damaged, although when truing the wheel the hub and the discs look completely fine and have no run out which is why my thoughts are still with the rim. I can see the rim has a small amount of run out and is...

Anyone had experience with Excel rims?

Thanks guys, all discs have been replaced. I'm pretty sure its the rim as its slightly buckled, braking just amplifies it. I used to get vibration just riding so I trued it a little which made it smooth under riding, its just under braking now.

Anyone had experience with Excel rims?

Hi all, Last year unfortunately I got knocked off my S10 by an ambulance of all things :) It was low speed and the bike only suffered a minor bash, but the front rim ended up getting bent in the action. I've trued the wheel back to something half reasonable, but ever since its given me...

    Totally rusted coil/spark plug

The bike is garaged at home and also when I get to work, but I ride it everyday 70 miles. Its got 35k miles on the clock. The plugs/coils were last out about year and a bit ago - i'm pretty shocked at how bad it is on that plug, but perhaps the rubber seal just totally failed and lots of water...

    Totally rusted coil/spark plug

Thanks so much for the replies and support, I've spend a good few hours today trying to sort this, unfortunately I think it's game over for my part and it's going to have to go the dealer. The coil sort of disintegrated into pieces the first inch, I think that taking the head off will not...

    Totally rusted coil/spark plug

Thanks guys, thats not a bad idea actually. Problem is always the access but I might give this a go. I was thinking if I butcher it enough it would fall to pieces and come out eventually?? Let me give it a go and report back. K

    Totally rusted coil/spark plug

Hi guys, I know I don't post here often, but with this little doozie of a problem I thought I would. On Friday after work started up the bike, ran fine although a little irratic for about 15 seconds and then dropped to one cylinder - I knew that one of the plugs/coils had probably failed. Rode...

It does look okay to me, but perhaps a little moisture is in there?

    Front and rear spoke measurements

Decided to go with Off Road in Germany, as they seem to have everything premade and were helpful over email. https://www.off-the-road.de/en/XT-1200Z/Suspension/Spoke-set-stainless-steel-XT-1200Z.html I'll be fitting it all myself, a local firm to me weren't very helpful which pushed me down...

    Front and rear spoke measurements

Hi all, I want to order up a new set of stainless spokes for both front and rear, seen that Hagon-Shocks here in the UK can do this based on what others have said but after speaking to them they seem to have no records of measurements for the XT1200. I can't send the wheels in because I need...

In 2014 Yamaha redesgned the Clutch basket on the S10, it became a little heavier and alleviates some of the engine vibration that occurs around 2000-3500rpm when accelerating, or at least thats what is suppose to happen. Quite a few owners have said that it really transforms the smoothness and...

    Greetings from Warwickshire, UK

Ello ello all, I've been a long time lurker, but thought I'd say hello :) I've got a 2012 S10, owned it for about 1.5 years and put 10k miles on in that time. Now sitting nicely at just under 20k. I ride this bike everyday, come whatever weather - 70 miles everyday from South Warwickshire to...
